And wife may be concerened with appearances, having the "right" house in the "right' location, having the kids look cute in matching outfits, etc etc etc. All of which is $$$. Which leaves her in a bind: since she doesn't WORK, what are her other options? She is stuck. She of course looks pinched!

If you are 24 and living in the Arlington corridor, you shoudl be out having fun, OP. Don't waste your youth on this guy, who is married and totally in a diff. age bracket, etc. You have so much potential and there are so many fun things to do , so many fun people to meet, don't hide yourself away. Get out and about with people your own age. Go out to Whitlow's, Clarendon Ballroom, etc. Get out there. You are really limiting yourself and cutting yourself short.

He and I are both white. My parents are not first generation Americans. They just believe you move out when you graduate from high school and life is yours to live at that point. Obviously not helicopter parents.

If you graduated from MU, you probably live somewhere in the N. Arlington corridor now, where a 2-bedroom apt. *would* run you the price you cited. . .

You occasionally work for a friend's (probably a contact you met thru MU? maybe you interned there? ) store , which could be in the N. Arlington corridor also. . hmmm. . .

And you volunteer for a pet rescue organization or shelter, b/c you recently fostered a dog. . .

so your apt, must allow dogs. . .

I saw a special on HBO years and years ago about what happens to these young hos (kept women) as they age....it ain't pretty. Nobody is keeping up an old ho.

Get a job. Earn a living. Being a hooker (kept woman) is not a long-term option.

I do think OP probably graduated from Marymount, since that is the only school around here with this major.

I was thinking that ever since she mentioned interior design.

So, she is 24. . she likely graduated 2 years ago (2012?, 2011?)) with a major in interior design.

Not hard to do some tracing here. . .

Well, the guy obviously has psychological issues too -- and is stunted -- not a mature human being in a mature relationship with his spouse. And probably not with himself either.

Crazy that he purportedly works in the mental health field!
