St. Thomas: Overpriced and found the locals / staff we interacted with rude and on the take. Asked someone for directions and he wanted money.
Jamaica: Yes, the resort was lovely but outside was impoverished and we were constantly warned about crime by hotel staff and by friends of friends who live there.
Lastly, and this is just my experience, while I would certainly visit Dubai, Morocco, and Turkey again, I would not go without a male escort. My experience was that being a solo woman in these places is dicey and you will absolutely be treated as different, less than, or an easy target if you are a female solo traveler. Either have a male escort or go with a reputable tour.
Would love to visit Morocco and Turkey one day (not dubai) but will not bother giving any place my money where women are less than
I have heard that Morocco is a no go for women traveling by themselves.
That’s weird. I lived in Turkey and have been back several times as a single woman. I have not had a problem. I’ve had my wits about me but it was no different than a major city I’ve lived in or traveled to.
I have friends with similar experiences in Morocco. No issue.

You think Paris is “ancient”? Have you been to Rome? Greece?
Not yet, however I expect Rome and Greece to be old. I studied Art History in school. I wasn't prepared for Paris.

Austria - I didn’t hate it, but the people were rude. One old guy sat down next to me and explained how England sent it’s dumbest people to America. That’s why we are dumb.
His English was very good. Middle aged short stocky guy. Not impressive. I just ignored him. I guess that was the best response? (I was young and fit and could have decked him)

Fascinating! Paris is one of my favorite places in the world. What DID you like?
Nothing really. I loved Switzerland though! I have a few relatives that visited Paris. Some really liked it and others felt like me. I was really looking forward to visiting Paris. I thought I was going to love it, but I did not.

PP and am reminded of how dirty, grimy and depressing VA Beach was. Never again. I was there for a week chaperoning a school sponsored trip. Overpriced everything and chock a block with tacky stores and smelled like weed/skunk. Litter-strewn boardwalk and side streets. Lots of motorcycles drag racing and making noise.

+1. Jordan and Turkey are great to travel as a female. I had zero issues driving around in Turkey and went from Adana to Istanbul. No issues whatsoever. And at the time, I had dyed my hair pink, though not completely. Never had an issue.
Not my experience at all in Turkey. Went twice, once with a male companion and once with a female friend. Traveled to Istanbul, Antalya, and Ankara. With my male friend it was lovely. With my female friend very different and downright scary at times.

I know this isn't shocking - but Wildwood, NJ gave me the outright creeps. I don't know what I expected...but it was skeevier than I could have imagined.
Myrtle Beach was trashy, like a beachy strip mall.
Las Vegas...once was enough.
Phoenix was one big brown blech (but outside the city was gorgeous).

Sincerely wonder how any female thinks visiting solo a place where women are second class citizens is a good idea.

It's such a difference travel now v 10 yrs ago. If you asked me now where my favorite places are it's quite different than years ago. I loved Paris and HK and Xian more. But I like NYC better these days or at least the past few yrs more. I loved Chicago more in 2005 timeframe than now. I like Vegas actually more now and New Orleans in that there's more off tourist areas for family activities. I still love Venice. 
didn't love London then nor now though. Loved Mt St Michel years ago wouldn't go again. Loved Zurich more years ago and South Beach I don't feel has changed. The crowds are just so big these days in season. I just have a harder time enjoying a lot of places with more commercialism.
