Specialization electrical engineering or air and space engineering. Purdue tuition half from the others two. Which one to choose ?

Depends on the kid and your finances. I would choose Purdue over other 2 for more collaborative nature.

Penn without a doubt.

Is your kid more invested in the finance side of the equation or public policy? If the former, I’d go with Wharton or Columbia. Otherwise, Georgetown.

Yes depends on the focus among the interests. Columbia has the best known policy grad school of the three but Penn also has interesting policy opportunities (including a lot of Philly based work which can offer good experiences). Georgetown obviously is in DC with tons of policy orgs. Wharton is clearly the premier finance school but folks there are definitely business oriented, less “policy”. Can’t really go wrong so congrats!

my kid is down to two choices. Virginia Tech for CMDA or University of Florida for Data science. Expense is not a factor. I struggle to find the pros of VT as it compares to UF, but he’s most concerned about being too far from home. He will be also to fly home all major breaks and then two extra weekends of his choosing.

Purdue or Harvey Mudd, depending on fit.

Northwestern have higher ranking

This is where rankings fail. Look at Harvey Mudd’s outcomes. I haven’t looked in a few years but they used to border on unbelievable.

VA resident. Plans to go to grad school for sports science-related career. Chose these schools based on size but still D1 and campus life.

Davidson without question. The students absolutely love it and the education is incomparable. Plus, the alumni network is incredibly strong. Congrats!!!

Wake is a school for the UMC. Too much signaling with $500 shoes. The super rich do not do that and there were no visibly non UMC kids there.

Totally agree that Davidson is best school and amazing education. But specifically for Sport Science look hard at Wake. For some reason it attracts kids of famous people including sports stars. And has an AI sports science lab well funded. Would only pick that over Davidson if positive of sports path. Would pick Davidson and Wake over other too unless cost is factor.

W&M if in state. The others don’t have a brand that justifies the extra expense.
