Won't try to argue that they are equivalent to the top tier in this area, it's not close. Probably not even the middle tier of the privates.
But those teams could be competitive with the likes of Potomac, St. Andrew's, Good Counsel, maybe even the Heights. It's not public school lacrosse.
That's just mean.Yorktown played the Heights to a 10-8 game and there are a bunch of publics in this area that would also beat St. Andrews and Good Counsel.

Plenty of the public schools in this area could give the mid level privates a run for their money any day of the week
BS. Comments like this are delusional. It has never happened and, until it does, stay off the big boys' pages.
Oh my bad…O’Connell could definitely beat Madison or Yorktown simply because they are a private school…your arrogance makes me want to vomit
Public’s sure have a lot of lax pride
Yes, they do. They get their players into D1/D2 and D3 schools, just like privates do. Private schools do not =good lacrosse. I dont see Maret/Sidwell/Ireton/Potomac/GC/SMR/O'Connell beating Westminster/Century/Severna Park/Glenelg/Urbana/Linganore/Oakdale/Howard/South River/Broadneck/Catonsville/Hereford/Towson or Dulaney to name a few.
