That was awesome. “Give it back then, love.”

On a business note, I rent houses to the Australian military and will jack up the rent when they leave the Commonwealth. They will have much more disposable income.
This Australia, where 60% want to remain in the monarchy???

Yes, that Australia. Those monarchist polls are crap - they were saying no one wanted Charles a week before the Queen's death and two days after - majority approval! Anything to shore up that dying institution.
Oh and here's the New Zealand PM saying its inevitable.
It sounds like she was educating her constituents, that the process would be drawn out and they stood to lose much by dissolving the treaties. Tiny countries like New Zealand gain more than they give by this alliance. If not Britain, they’ll need to find another benefactor and protector. Not sure what their options are honestly.
LOL The U.S. does more for the Australia and New Zealand alliance. Did you forget we sold Australia multi-millions in nuke submarines in 2021? Call me when Britain does anything but drain their tax dollars dry.

It’s petty of him to hold out on the Edinburgh title for his brother who by all accounts has served loyally.
Why didn’t the Queen give it away after Prince Philip died?
+1. It might be too soon after Philip’s death.
The title automatically passed to Charles upon Philip's death, as his eldest son, now that the title has merged with the Crown, Charles can create the title again, and pass it on.
I don’t think he’ll give it to Edward. He doesn’t like Edward and it goes against his long standing position of slimming down the extra royals. Sophie was trying so hard to get close to the Queen in hopes that she would intervene. I’m guessing that this won’t sway Charles. I think he will not fill it and leave it for William to give to his second son instead.
I think they should fight for Royal positions. Like MMA style fights. They can wear their silly costumes.
My money is on Anne for all of it![]()
Me too. She was Prince Philip's Alpha daughter.
Wasn’t she his only daughter?

It will continue to pass down to next generation. I know they could create Duchess of E but does the Edinburg title to males?
It was announced that Prince Phillip, the Queen, and the then Prince of Wales agreed that Edward would get it. Because Charles was the eldest son, he automatically inherited it, and the Queen couldn’t just give it to someone else. Now that Charles is king, the title is part of the Crown, so Charles can hand it out. Edward and Sophie have kept their noses very clean, so no way Charles doesn’t do it,
Hmm more like they’ve kept their noses brown.
I think he’ll try to avoid it. His reference clearly is to not have extra royals around and Edward is not a friend. If he delays, it will force Edward and Sophie to either keep their mouths shut graciously and stay out of sight (meaning people forget about them and they never get it) or Sophie amps up her press leaking to get sympathy stories which could piss off Charles. If there is too much press either in getting the title or lobbying for it, the press may go after outing Edward.
Without Harry and Megan around, the press needs a villain or scandal. Andrew can keep them busy on that front but Edward being gay will be on the table. The palace would likely trade an Edward is gay reveal to bury another William cheating story.
Oh, its you again. I was wondering when you would bring up William's "cheating" and Edward's "gayness" again.
