💯 And not sure how much most of you know about foreign exchange programs but I know if you leave early to come home it’s not just because “you were ready to come home”. Something had to happen, she was asked to leave. And the family does not get any money back. I know this because I returned from Italy early and my parents were furious. She is just another Hatmaker that probably felt entitled and did not want to follow the rules, what’s new. None of their children have boundaries. Great parenting. I’ve got 3 children of my own and I’m certain I have not been the greatest parent at times but I can say I never praised my children for immature behavior, fits and dang sure taught them independence.

It is always her stance to remind people that there is no white lady more in tune with black people and their oppression than she is, and no straight person who loves the LGBTQ community more than she does. (Also no mom as cool as she is…no daughter or friend or girlfriend as loved as she is…etc.)

Likewise, Tyler has to remind people that no black man loves older white people as much as he does. It’s his thing. This behavioral trait, though the details differ, might be the one thing they have the very most in common. They each think there is no one else like them and no one who could understand things or love others the way they do.

I wouldn’t say she’s reached a dead end, but sad is accurate. She still has paths out of it moving forward.

Spain can be incredibly racist in a way that’s not necessarily broadly condemned like in the USA. I hope Rémy did not have to experience that.

My DD took some time off from college to au-pair for a family in Zaragoza, Spain. She (a young, fair complexioned, "white" girl) was treated like royalty and got an extreme up close look at the the very commonplace racism in Spain. There were historical reasons given and it was very clear (at least in the areas she visited and stayed) that black people were not welcomed or appreciated. It was a difficult time for her and I can only imagine what that sweet daughter of Jen's experienced. Let's not with the children, please. Jen puts her stuff out there and her tale is a tale of woe to some and she gives plenty of fodder, leave the children alone.

Furthermore, I watched Jen's invite to her MeCourse with her therapist. Here's my takeaway: there are women who Jen connects with. She has a presence on camera that is engaging and warm when she wants to be. There are people dying for the type of friendships that she seems to have and there are people dying for a friend who talks to them the way that Jen talks to people on the viewing side of the camera. It's like she doesn't know you but cares about your very health & well being, as a friend would! There's a certain loneliness that women only know, especially at her age and especially at her stage in life. Jen knows that and capitalizes on it. If you are on this thread and you find truth in that, I encourage you to find that type of friendship with the women in YOUR actual life and be that friend to women in YOUR actual life. I understand, that takes guts and maybe you have to start thinking a different way, you have to change a small way that you behave towards other women, you have to get out of a comfort zone that you're in that has helped you arrive at such a lonely place but GET OUT. Don't get caught up on where you/they are at and if maybe you'll have something in common. You're women, you'll have something in common - find joy in finding out additional things you have in common. You might be surprised.

I believe she dropped out of UT during the pandemic. I may be misremembering though.


Thank you for posting the YT link. I thought the video was sweet and any challenges are not Jen's to tell. It's not a failure to end the experience early.

I wouldn't be surprised if Remy missing Brandon's wedding drove a knife in her little heart somehow. Considering all they've posted about her tenderness, trauma and emotionality, I'm honestly shocked that they got married with all of the kids there except her.
