He was in Brokeback Mountain. He gave a great and convincing performance. Unfortunately, I also think that wonderful and convincing performance became a mental block for a lot of women to see him in a different way.
I disagree BM gave women a "mental block". If Heath Ledger had lived, he would have had a prolific career after playing gay in BM. I think JG is fine but he and his sister (2 nepo babies) are not nearly as transformative as actors as they think they are. They are fine, but they aren't Daniel Day Lewis. They spent a large part of the prime of their career being too choosy about doing great indie films. Those don't make money and the really great materials go to actors like Bale and Blanchet who are out of their league. If you watch Brokeback Mountain again, JG's performance was the 4th best out of the 4 leads, and he isn't really that good looking. He looks puppy cute, but the audience who would fall for puppy cute are all Team Taylor. If you line him up along the 4 Chrises and 2 Ryans, he would be the 7th best looking or bankable guy, that's why he isn't a bigger star.

Okay help me out? Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, and who are the other two Chrises?
Chris Pine must be one

That’s right. But Ted Casablancas made some mistakes.
