He was in Brokeback Mountain. He gave a great and convincing performance. Unfortunately, I also think that wonderful and convincing performance became a mental block for a lot of women to see him in a different way.

I disagree BM gave women a "mental block". If Heath Ledger had lived, he would have had a prolific career after playing gay in BM. I think JG is fine but he and his sister (2 nepo babies) are not nearly as transformative as actors as they think they are. They are fine, but they aren't Daniel Day Lewis. They spent a large part of the prime of their career being too choosy about doing great indie films. Those don't make money and the really great materials go to actors like Bale and Blanchet who are out of their league. If you watch Brokeback Mountain again, JG's performance was the 4th best out of the 4 leads, and he isn't really that good looking. He looks puppy cute, but the audience who would fall for puppy cute are all Team Taylor. If you line him up along the 4 Chrises and 2 Ryans, he would be the 7th best looking or bankable guy, that's why he isn't a bigger star.

+1. Heath did an incredible job as The Joker after BM.

This is the article, supposedly about him. His sister is referenced too.

Reportedly JG has been in a relationship with a French model for about 8 years. They are fairly private about their relationship compared to most celebrity couples. I haven't heard of him with anyone else since they got together.

I have a soft spot for JG because someone I once knew worked as an au pair for a celebrity acting couple in NYC. My acquaintance had graduated from college and worked for 2 years teaching English as a foreign language abroad. She wanted to get a teaching job in NYC but didn't have the necessary credentials. So while getting things lined up to get such a job, she worked as an au pair for this famous couple for a year.

She'd signed a NDA and took it seriously, so she rarely talked about the couple or their friends. But she did say that of all their friends, the one who treated her best and not like a piece of furniture was JG. When the celebrity couple was away they would sometimes hang out together. It wasn't romantic; she said he never hit on her. They'd wander around the city exploring and then go out to dinner. He'd pick up the tab. She said he said he really appreciated talking to her because most of the people he knew were in the entertainment business and it was refreshing to talk to someone who wasn't. It only happened a few times--perhaps in part because she worked most weekends and he was often away. It was more of a phone call from JG who say something like "I am in the City without any plans and I know X and Y are away. So, if you aren't busy can we get together and hang out? "

She said she enjoyed it and they had a good time. She said he was a really nice guy.

As a result, I've always felt that there's a side to JG that may not come through in the press.

That’s right. But Ted Casablancas made some mistakes.

It is a terrible thing when someone can just make up any horrible rumor and harm someone's reputation and earning capacity without any repercussions. Casablancas should have been sued like Cardi B. sued Tasha K and Bridgit Macron sued Candace Owens. It hasn't stopped Candace because there is no judgment against her yet. But Cardi won a judgment against Tasha K. and I doubt Tasha will spread unfounded rumors again.

It’s a little more than that. He is an emotional vampire, according to her. She was a young intern on a show, and he immediately became infatuated with her. He did want to have sex with her but it was more like he was dependent on her idol-worship to prior up his ego. And she found out after that it is a pattern of his on every project.

Domenica Feraud. I just looked it up again.

And I was never good at telling jokes but the punchline goes “I’ll get older but your lovers stay my age”
