And today I learned that some people worry about this stuff. It never in a million years would have dawned on myle to clean jewelry before wearing NOR to worry if someone else has worn a necklace before me. Weird.

Do you wash your clothes without wearing them? Do you really put earrings in your ears without wiping them with rubbing alcohol?? Ewwwww.

I vote for a return if you still have the tag and you’re still within the return window. People try on necklaces at stores. Say you tried it and it didn’t lay right. It’s been touched by many. It’s fine to return.

I would likely eat the co$t of the necklace then either gift it to someone I know or donate it.

Because I wouldn’t feel right lying about not wearing it since technically it had lost some value because of that.

Sorry OP.

I am not licking it! Our skin is a barrier against all sorts of things. Not sure if I would return because they will throw it out. Depends on how important the $45:is to you. I might return it or donate it depending on the day.

Feel free to return.

I do wonder how the people concerned about body oils function in life. Do they touch doorknobs?

Or try on bras - that obviously other women have tried on? Absurd. OP, definitely return. It’s not underwear or a swimsuit, for crying out loud.

Exactly.

I think OP was also beyond the return by date and just doesn’t want to include that fact in the opening

Not a chance I'd be trying to scam the cashier like that.

You went to an event in it. You wore it. Don't be that person who then returns a worn item.
