A lot of these kids see ICE in their neighborhoods, know people have been detained or deported.
There is something special about peers getting together and publicly saying what is happening to you is wrong and we are here to support you.
There are also a lot of youth from immigrant families who DO NOT participate in these walk-outs. We support detaining and deporting illegal immigrants. The fact that the US has not forced its laws for decades doesn't mean that it's free for all. We all went through years of waiting, separation, spent a lot of money, had medical tests etc. etc. and never got public assistance. Do not for a second start imagining to yourself that all immigrants support these walk-outs. These are organized by liberals. It's the biggest mistake that you made. You cannot brainwash us with your sob stories. It's over for illegals. I enjoy confronting all the white liberal women living in a cuckoo-land who think they're on some kind of crusade.
You know you are a loser right
The bolded is not what ICE is doing
I wouldn't waste any sob story on you, MAGA
I can tell an uneducated immigrant when I hear one, no matter what degree brought you here
- an anti ICE legal immigrant
At least I don't have to lower myself to your level of calling names. Put your money where your mouth is. Move back South of border and upkeep those immigrants from cradle to grave. Use your own money for that. I don't want my tax money (and I'm among the 1/2 of population who pays) to go to upkeep you and the likes of you. Offer to deport yourself instead of some of those. Let them move into your house and provide for them. I come from a poor country and if handouts are free for all, I'd rather see my countrymen get some. Perhaps I should ask my 100s of relatives to move here if your house and wallet are open. Let me know. Otherwise keep your mouth shut.

I agree. Special interest groups are exploiting children for their own political gain.
I cannot support these so-called "walk outs."
GenZ and maybe old alpha can see the world they will inherit. They really are getting the shaft from Trump.

Well that's a lot.
FWIW - My husband is a documented immigrant so we went through the process from fiancée visa to citizenship. We have a lot of friends and family who are immigrants and they ALL think that what is happening is disgraceful.
I know a lot who don't. We're from all over the world, not just south of border. I don't want to speak Spanish and I'm sick of it. Every immigrant I know who isn't south of border is sick of it. I speak 8 other languages. We're all sick of the entitlement and attitude.

But the protest has nothing to do with school. Kids are required to be in school to learn. Schools clubs/organizations that want to support immigrant students can sponsor/host/organize an event or protest open to the study body outside of school hours. School isn’t the place to be trying to exercise right to protest federal government policy. It also takes staff away from their roles bc now adults need to go outside too and supervise all the walk out students.
