There are also a lot of youth from immigrant families who DO NOT participate in these walk-outs. We support detaining and deporting illegal immigrants. The fact that the US has not forced its laws for decades doesn't mean that it's free for all. We all went through years of waiting, separation, spent a lot of money, had medical tests etc. etc. and never got public assistance. Do not for a second start imagining to yourself that all immigrants support these walk-outs. These are organized by liberals. It's the biggest mistake that you made. You cannot brainwash us with your sob stories. It's over for illegals. I enjoy confronting all the white liberal women living in a cuckoo-land who think they're on some kind of crusade.

At least I don't have to lower myself to your level of calling names. Put your money where your mouth is. Move back South of border and upkeep those immigrants from cradle to grave. Use your own money for that. I don't want my tax money (and I'm among the 1/2 of population who pays) to go to upkeep you and the likes of you. Offer to deport yourself instead of some of those. Let them move into your house and provide for them. I come from a poor country and if handouts are free for all, I'd rather see my countrymen get some. Perhaps I should ask my 100s of relatives to move here if your house and wallet are open. Let me know. Otherwise keep your mouth shut.

You have written absolutely nothing that’s true. Nothing. Soon people like you from poor countries won’t be allowed in at all. Trump wants only people who can pay a whole lot of money for a visa.

I agree. Special interest groups are exploiting children for their own political gain.

I cannot support these so-called "walk outs."

GenZ and maybe old alpha can see the world they will inherit. They really are getting the shaft from Trump.

I am sorry, but they are the most privileged, indulged, pampered generation in history.

They have so much friggin stuff, expensive stuff, cars, thousand dollar smart phones, huge houses where everyone has their own room and no one shares anything, $200.00 sneakers...

They are glued to their thousand dollar smart phones all day long getting fed propaganda and stupidity from chinese bots designed to sow discord and make them hate everyone around them. They have zero historical perspective and only know what big brother and the chinese propaganda bots feed them. They think that they are going to become instafamous and monetize their online fake lives so they don't need to actually work.

They are not getting shafted by anyone but their stupid smart phones that are making them stupid, addicted and lazy.

I have strong opinions on walkouts and have posted a few times about my experiences as a teacher. Most students do not take them seriously and use them to skip class.

We had a discussion with our teens tonight and they know our feelings. We can’t control what they do at school and they are old enough to decide but we hope they do not participate in any walk outs or protests during school hours.

I didn’t mention in my posts that my all of my grandparents were immigrants. They would not want any of their great grandchildren leaving school like that for any cause. They valued work and responsibility more than anything else.

People immigrate from all over the world to come to America not just south of the border and we are part of what make America great

Just from your comments I can tell you are uneducated since you are perseverating on the southern border. Just tells me you swallow MAGA will. You need to not talk about something you really don't have sn understanding of

School is for education. Go to a protest outside of the school day. If it is important, kids will make the time. Better yet, raise money or volunteer your time to help those in need. Make a difference in someone’s life.

Well that's a lot.
FWIW - My husband is a documented immigrant so we went through the process from fiancée visa to citizenship. We have a lot of friends and family who are immigrants and they ALL think that what is happening is disgraceful.

I know a lot who don't. We're from all over the world, not just south of border. I don't want to speak Spanish and I'm sick of it. Every immigrant I know who isn't south of border is sick of it. I speak 8 other languages. We're all sick of the entitlement and attitude.

Oh BS

Building Concentration camps is horrifying.

We live in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA THE CONSTITUTION DUE PROCESS IS A THING SO F OFF.

But the protest has nothing to do with school. Kids are required to be in school to learn. Schools clubs/organizations that want to support immigrant students can sponsor/host/organize an event or protest open to the study body outside of school hours. School isn’t the place to be trying to exercise right to protest federal government policy. It also takes staff away from their roles bc now adults need to go outside too and supervise all the walk out students.

So with that reasoning, there shouldn't be anything going on in the schools that aren't academic?
No pep rally? No being excused from class to go to your game? No end of year field trips to Hershey Park or Kings Dominion? There is a lot of time wasted in High School.
The walk out is maybe 2 hours out of 180 days of school. Let the kids exercise their right to free speech in a safe space.
