I think this is like the posts on Mother's Day - if you have a great marriage then getting your own cake isn't an issue. If you have a crappy marriage then having to buy your own cake is just one more thing your spouse doesn't do for you and it stings.

We are living in a pandemic of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, this trend of celebrating with cake and booze needs to end.
