Tell me what you think JUG is and I’ll let you know. And tell me what sort of infractions it might be for, and how many one might receive for different types of infractions.
Where does your child go to school? I’ve had dc at different types of schools and I suspect you’ve never had a dc at a Jesuit school

Reading between the lines, you would think it might be. But they did not say the S word so as to reduce the likelihood of copycats.
But it WAS suicide. Why tiptoe around the fact?
Who the hell do you think you are, crying “shame?” Sit down and shut up. Your feelings and opinions are not valid.

I know there's an instinct to ask about all the why's - maybe to give us some illusion about our own kids safety. "Well, my kid doesnt xyz so this could never happen to him." But this could happen to anyone. Life is fragile.
I'm sure details will come out later. There are always lessons to be learned.
I dont know why another poster is saying "If you had a kid at a Jesuit high school, you'd understand". I don't know what that means. People like to center themselves in these conversations in a way I find repelling.
Let's keep this family in our prayers.

It’s just nothing to gossip about. It’s pathetic and wrong and you should just hope that one day it doesn’t happen to your family and a bunch of strangers start talking about your tragedy on this website
Seek help.
Posters are trying to help--you're not.
LOVE how on a thread about a suicide, people still throw around things like "seek help" to be condescending and rude. Or joke about a poster sounding "mentally ill" as an insult (thankfully Jeff deleted that one). Maybe consider that you, by using mental illness as an insult, are part of the problem of these poor teenagers and their untreated mental illness that leads to their deaths.
+1 People always seem shocked when suicides happen. Bringing mental illness into the light so that it can be discussed openly and other incidents like this hopefully prevented is neither pathetic nor wrong--it's an important thing to do for our kids.
