For the PPs, the problem often isn't flat vs not, it is flat vs different body types. Guys will generally be attracted to cute, petite girls with small chests. However, the combination of a flat chest and a larger body type is not viewed as desirable.

That said, 19 seems too young.

And I don’t think it’s creepy for a dad to ask this, if his daughter has brought him into the conversation by asking for his help in getting the mother on board.

I think it’s akin to a guy being shorter than 5’6” …. There are still women that will date a super short guy, but it definitely narrows the pool. Breasts are considered so essential to female identity that insurance will pay to replace them if you lose them for a medical reason, so I don’t really blame guys if that’s a requirement for them.

When I was 19 and very skinny/small (as many teens are), I was having a summer fling with a guy and I lamented to him my small boobs, and he said I needed to find a guy who was into small boobs. I said yeah maybe some guys can deal, but he was like “no you’ll find a guy who is INTO small boobs, like prefers them”. It blew my mind that this could be true. As it turns out, I had several boyfriends through college who were totally down (never complained!) and looking back, they definitely had a “type” since all their girlfriends were super small and petite. Which is pretty normal for guys to be into. I met my dh at the end of college and he’s a butt guy (ironic because I also wouldn’t have said I have a butt, but he is obsessed with mine) and probably not “into” small boobs but he is into small-overall women. So usually that comes with small boobs.

In any event, after kids my formerly 32a boobs are a pretty perfect 32c (which are smaller than they sound but stil pretty great and perky at 50). No 19 year old should be getting this surgery, esp not funded (even if indirectly) by her parents.

I have always been naturally thin and was something like a 28AA at 19. 32B before having kids. I would wait.

Implants only last 10-20 years. If you get them at 19 you will have to have about 4 more surgeries in the future to replace them. I wouldn’t.

I have a 19 year old DD too, I would advise not to. She’s too young and her cup size will mostly get bigger as she gets older into her 20’s.

I waited until after kids for mine and (ironically) did not do much breastfeeding as my supply was limited.
My friends who had implants did not have any issues breast feeding.

If my DD was truly flat and wanted them at 19 I would be ok with it if she actually did the research and understood what she is getting into.
She probably does not have very much tissue to work with so they will have to be small. But also, she should talk to a few surgeons and also have them evaluate her muscle tissue. She may want to spend some time in the gym prior to getting them to build up he chest muscles if she is going under the muscle (which is best results).
Once she has the information and a plan, maybe talking with DW about her findings and approach will reassure her she is not rushing into anything.

I have a friend who was very flat chested, maybe a double A, and got implants at 25 to go to a small B. She's quite thin so her figure looked great after the sugery and she always said it was the best decision she ever made. But she was 25, finished with law school, and making a decision based on some understanding of knowing for sure what her body looked like as an adult.

I don't think there's anything wrong with someone getting implants if it's what they want, but it's a huge decision to make at 19. My understanding is that it can even affect whether a woman is able to breastfeed, something that most 19 year olds might not think or care about but which she might care about in the future, and having to have them replaced regularly is another reason not to do it too young.

Assuming this is not a troll post, I would ask this father to reconsider supporting his daughter needing to alter her body to feel comfortable in it. Support her in accepting and loving herself as she is.
