I used to believe that all of the -isms and -phobias of our society, while they certainly existed, we're banished to the edges of society, and generally not welcomed in polite society. For one thing, elections are run by the states. And there are informed observers who can point out any shenanigans being pulled at the state level.

But beyond that, Trump bases his so-called mandate on his popularity with the people. Other than crowd size at his rallies, elections are his favorite way to measure that. His ego won't let him put a stop to elections.

They don't need to rig all the elections. Just enough to get 50.1% of the vote in 50.1% of the "point total" regionz.

FWIW I don’t think it is as simple as x percent is liberal/MAGA and therefore believe/don’t believe free and fair elections will happen in 2026 and 2028.

FWIW I think Trump looks too sick and frail these days to continue beyond this term. He might not make to the end. Without him, the MAGA cult falls apart. It will fracture and become less able to hold the reins.
