An Apker award is only applicable to physics-which is not the only science subject out there. There are many national fellowships that Bowdoin students are receiving every year: https://www.bowdoin.edu/student-fellowships/recent-winners/national-fellowships/2024-2025.html

I was thinking the same.

Yes, Bowdoin has better science resources and facilities than Hamilton-oh my lord, next you people will say Rutgers is outpacing Harvard, because you're so against the idea that maybe some schools are just better. If you look at outcomes for science, clearly Bowdoin is much better. It Is also shocking to me that people think that there can be a similar amount of resources for science when Bowdoin has a coastal center, arctic center, environmental science center, AND separate science facilities.

Considering this is a thread about Colby...

What percentage of kids at these colleges participate in PR's surveys? Without this info, these rankings are crap.

Bates:

Hamilton:

Both mediocre buildings and neither is known to rank well for LAC-> grad school science rankings…meanwhile,
Bowdoin:

These are just the buildings dedicated to biological and environmental science. Things are even better for Amherst and Williams. I don’t know why anyone would think Hamilton or bates is in discussion.

Wow--you're a genius because you can tell the quality of the science infrastructure and instruction being provided to students by looking at the outside of the building. /s

From these photos, Bowdoin doesn’t look particularly impressive. Buildings are nothing special.

Those are nice science facilities for an LAC, maybe you just aren't into them, but my R1 institution would love to have buildings like these.
