My kids call each other "bruh" but know not to call adults that. They are in DCPS.

Not perfect and kids definitely have screens and misbehave sometimes, but much more in line with the way we grew up in terms of expectations and behavior.

This has been my experience in Catholic school. It's a lot easier to instill manners in the classroom when you're allowed to tell kids god is watching and there's a picture of the pope staring them down.

Public schools can put googley eyes on the wall. Works just as well.

Catholic kids know where God cant see.

Umm, I’m not sure if you are deliberately being racist or not. But, I live in a wealthy southern suburb that is virtually all white and my own kid who is considered an extremely well mannered middle school girl calls me bruh sometimes (and I don’t care and remember calling my mom “dude” in the 80s). You have a weird stereotype, because the kids I’ve known for years run the gamut of totally wonderful, polite kids to a couple of them with significant behavioral issues. But literally 100% of them are using current slang.

Posts like these sound like, “my perfect kid is being turned into a jerk by his peers.”

To the rest of the world, these kids just look like jerks.

Also they do plenty of influencing themselves.

OP, I think you need to visit a few private schools and find a strict one (not all are.)

Military base schools

Specifically, only on those military bases where the "DoD Educational Activity" operates the schools. Many such bases are outside the continental US. Some are in the continental US.

Students living on most military bases in the continental US (e.g., Ft Belvoir) instead attend the local public schools (e.g., FCPS).

Dept of Defense schools. But most people are not eligible to send their kids to one so it's a dumb suggestion.

Like befriends like, OP. If your child is attracting ill-mannered friends, then you need to take a hard look at how he is behaving when he's outside your view, and what he himself values in friends.

The kids you describe absolutely exist, and if your own child was one of them or valued those qualities in friends, you would already know who they are.
