+1 My kid is very social and still doesn’t drink. He’s usually designated driver for college friends in the summer.

We had two teen drunk driving deaths at our high school recently. Thank goodness for the safe drivers!

Kids in the HS/college demographic are drinking significantly less than prior generations. My 17 and 20 year old don’t drink. Older one is an athlete and health obsessed. Even in Europe now where he could legally drink - still doesn’t.

Good advice to try going for the first hour, before people get drunk. Especially good if he has a friend with him who also doesn’t drink. They can go together, hang out with people for a bit, and then move on to somewhere else.

They may meet other non-drinkers this way, and those kids may move on to the next thing with them, growing their group.

This is how my friend met her husband of 30+ years. They were two non-drinkers at a fraternity/sorority mixer!
