These are not any more expensive than other schools.


SMU and TCU - not to mention NYU and add Wake - are definite social class indicators. Tufts at least has a few complications.

But this is the most country club school list I've seen in a while. Tulane as a safety. South Carolina and Charleston as the real back ups.

But SMU and TCU are for real for these folks.

Bowdoin has slashed its ED acceptance rate in the past few years. Used to be 37%, now under 15%. The focus there is on recruited athletes and other institutional priorities. It is a risk, unless your DC is fully prepared to put in a number of RD apps as well.


Of course, if kid doesn't get into ED1, they will submit many RD applications in addition to ED2.

I would not.

Mine was deferred from Vanderbilt ED1 and got in RD.
