I bet some of these schools have been holding their breath for Harvard and other ivies to finish since that might mean cancellations for them.

Wouldn’t you have put a deposit by now? Would you be on the hook for tuition for both schools if you get off a wait list in the summer.

Yes you put a deposit where you intend to go. You lose the deposit if you switch. You are not in the hook for tuition until you matriculate. Many students switch schools due to waitlist movement. If you for some reason sign an off-campus lease, then that’s on you to resolve.

Correct. Luckily not too much
More worries now is to look for a good roommate.

I really don't think anyone got off. There was zero chatter online and a bunch of active posters on the various boards. I also think everyone got this email. The kids i know all did and one is a sibling to a graduate. They must have overenrolled to be confident despite continued Harvard uncertainty.

Curious if all 400ish students on the original Stanford waitlist have been offered spots on this extended waitlist as well or not.

Did you receive this message on July 1 already, and this an additional message?

FWIW, DC received this update in the portal on July 1 but no emails at all and no change since then.
