Let’s get something straight. Competing is usually considered keeping a game within 2 goals or less. SYC 12s managed to do that. The SYC 11s unfortunately did not compete. Moving to VRSC 09s, they certainly competed and even tied the highest ranked 2009 GA in the country.
Did anyone move through? No, but competing is a different story. I am proud of both SYC and VRSC. Thanks for hating.

Aldo the team likely gave up because they werent used to battling back for a win.
Time to setup friendlies with top clubs outside your league bubble to get a perspective on what other clubs are doing.
There really isn't any top clubs outside the league for age group.
Bethesda, VDA, Union. 3 of the best ECNL teams in the nation are down the road.
What age are you talking about? They certainly aren’t top in nationals as a club.
In regards to the 0-5 scores, club coaches who suck at rostering players are often the problem. Playing risky younger players and slow goalies on a national platform doesn’t work. You can’t go from mediocre teams to playing national teams with high expectations. I see a lot of players who look really good playing regional teams then they get to a National event and really suck. Not to mention, the players who get tired because they goof off all day long during their free time and the club places no restrictions on them. This is a club and coaching issue. You can’t blame your poor performance on the players who didn’t play.
Talking about 2010 Armour GA so I’d guess they are talking about the 3 top 30 teams in the DMV currently in this age group. All Armour players were there and there #1 goalie, I just think they weren’t that good. To bad none of those ECNL teams would ever play Armour there’s that harsh reality too. ECNL country club football will always gatekeep
