I don’t think they’ve released anything yet - I just see an “Attachment will be provided prior to the meeting.”

The email provides links to “view” the boundary recommendations and the 27-31 CIP. Neither links include drafts for review. I don’t understand why they bother sending links in the emails when the information isn’t available yet.

Because they are incompetent, and they are never held accountable and thus have no incentive to improve.

So I guess people just need to sign up to comment on something even if they don’t know yet if the boundary review will impact them. Got it.

Yes, build another school in a time of shrinking K—12 school population, and an increase in private and home school options.

An idea sufficiently dumb enough that FCPS might buy into it.
Its not shrinking.

Enrollment in November 2025 was 177,242, compared to 181,016 in November 2024.

FCPS is shrinking.

No, they are just communicating poorly again. There's an email that purports to contains links to Reid's recommendations as well as to the draft Capital Improvement Program but the materials haven't been attached to the relevant agenda items in Board Docs yet.

You'd think they'd try to get their act together, but 2026 stands to be another year of sloppiness and poor execution in FCPS.

There are only three 6-8 middle schools so they are very much the outliers. Reid might like all middle schools to be 6-8 but she’s already been told it’s logistically and financially a non-starter.

Nice try.

You can look at the cosmetic changes to these three board policies that the Governance Committee is now considering, and you will search in vain for anything that would lead you to believe they'd be inclined to spend money any time soon on a new middle school in Oakton.

See if they want to build a brand new middle school that is not needed given existing capacity, to make wealthy residents happier? LOL.

LOL just like the Western High School was going to be built. It only took how many years and then they got lucky when KAA became available. Otherwise, there would not be a new Western HS. But you go for it. Maybe you will get on the CIP, just like the Western HS was for how many years?
