Gaming is a large but niche industry. I would caution against assuming that the ethics and mores demonstrated there are consistent with those of the real world.

I would caution in assuming ethics and morals are somehow different there then in the real world. The real world has consistently shown itself to be unethical and immoral. People say lots of things behind closed doors or when they think no one is listening. Alcohol also has a way of allowing people to show their true colors.

Actually almost everyone I know irl tries to be kind and ethical as much as they can. If that’s not true for you, maybe it has something to do with who you surround yourself with. Perhaps you could benefit from making different choices.

I can without a doubt say never have I ever written nasty messages to someone privately or publicly telling them to off themselves. If you have, then that's something you have to live with.
