Are we going to be practicing in Ashburn or Springfield? That is first and foremost the biggest factor for every parent. If ii is a guarantee that they will be in Ashburn 2019-2020 then current players will probably stay for the year and start shopping around for the following spring. If it is primarily in Ashburn for 2019-2020, nobody from Springfield will make the transition for a year either until it moves near them. Traffic in DC is the #2 worst in the entire country. Add in toll fees and it is impossible.

Most kids start out at their local club, where practices are convenient, and then talent tends to aggregate together whether "recruited" or not. Most parents are willing to drive once their kids are older as well, and they show more commitment and are more serious about getting better. A club (any club) shouldn't be knocked just because kids didn't start there when they are 5, especially if they live 30 miles + away.

I am sure their business plan contemplates that these kids will compete on a St James branded team and will then also play something else at St James. Once one kid is doing a few things there. their friends will too and so on. They will sign up for a variety of training in a variety of sports. Families will eat there and hey also a spa so something to do if you are bored waiting. I have been there on weekends and the place is hopping. I don’t know about the soccer team plans but they still need to
Practice outside so probably will evolve over time to be inside in winter and outside at Leesburg rest of the year and yes parents will drive if it is good.
This is interesting post, and you could be right. If that is the plan, then they are in for a rude awakening. Given the distance, there is no reason for any FCV family to go to STJ if it isn't a mandatory event.
The bigger near and long term concern isn't the distance it is the product. For that distance, there better be a compelling reason to make the drive.
So how good of a coach is BP?

Anonymous wrote:I remember this post all that talk about moving to Springfield and FCV is still at Leesburg
Some theories became true FCV now need to rely on development people will not drive far if they have ECNL and DA at every corner now
the 2007 are doing good but look at Loudoun 2007 had they never became ECNL those top girls would have easily ran to FCV so now the big question is will the 2008 girls hang with MU? 2008 Girls lost yesterday to VSA in the semi final where only four teams applied

The coaches are good for the most part. A couple coach both DA and non-DA. Gus and Marvin.
Some of the other coaches are very good as well, but don't mix in with DA. Who is your coach supposed to be.
If Gus is your coach, try to do some soccer or futsal training on the side with him. He won't yell at your DD as much if he is making good $$ from you. It will be a better experience. Win-win.
Hmmm, so pay him extra and he won’t yell at you and it will be a better experience. Geez.
