Of course, 2 out of 3 Hearst parents don't even live in Cheh's ward.

The incoming PM4 class at Hearst is 82% IB. Get with the times.

Hearst overall is still above 70% out of boundary. Stick to the facts.

Your knowledge of the school is as outdated as your wishes for the park.

Actually, it's more complicated than that. There apparently was originally $12M for Hearst Rec Center and field upgrades to include things like fixing the broken stairs, site drainage, etc. And there was $5M-$6M for a pool and poolhouse somewhere in Ward 3...which frankly doesn't seem like enough. Then suddenly, there is $18 for a pool and poolhouse at Hearst...but wait, no longer will the Rec Center be repaired! Seems like a bait-and-switch to me...

Since you don't attend our school and haven't watched the trends of the last three classes, maybe don't comment. All it does is make it clear how outdated you are. If you'd like more info, by all means, come to our open houses next year. All of this information was given out at those events.

Perhaps it would be useful to cite to official DCPS enrollment numbers?

Cheh protected Janney's interests to be sure. But she's not been a particularly strong advocate for Murch and she threw Eaton under the bus when it got forced out of Deal for lesser quality Hardy. I would say that the more IB enrollment in a particular school, the more she pays attention.

Wasn't Cheh the one who pushed through the Murch renovation plans by getting the extra $5M in funding and agreeing to work with the builders to cut the budget so the original plan could work?

Many days late and many dollars short. Meanwhile Cheh doesn't raise a peep about the Duke Ellington white elephant. With cost overruns to $200 million and still climbing, mismanagement of that project is sucking funds out of Murch and other school renovations around the city.

Yuck. The whole local DC crony-developer-politico complex makes me want to take a long shower.

Most people really like her and want a pool at Hearst.

Others are hopping mad around the complete lack of public process concerning the homeless shelter at Cathedral Commons. Another case of Mary Cheh's arrogance. The amazing part is, in her own mind she thinks she's brilliant but she's not that smart when you try to engage her on the issues.

If I were one of the developer/investors in Cathedral Commons I'd be hopping mad about the shelter, too. I also wouldn't be too happy that it's being called the Cathedral Commons shelter.

Mary Cheh won with over 70% because she ran unopposed in the Dem primary. That is not likely to happen again because she is suffering from incumbentisis. She is behaving like she has a mandate on issues which never surfaced before the election. I am no longer a supporter.

Even with Janney, Cheh's record has been mixed. I remember when she favored deeding over part of the Janney playground so that some connected developer could build a "public private partnership" condo building. Only when the Janney community threatened to tar and feather her did Cheh pivot away from that scheme.
