I think it's very possible to have a safe, happy, middle class existence in P.G. County.

Why do so many atheists seem to be so angry and condescending? In my life, I've seen only one atheist who isn't disrespectful to believers and others who don't share their belief system. Why?? Why can't atheists disagree respectfully?

I am an atheist, but you would not know it as I never engage in conversations about religion. Yes, I am bewildered by religious people, but I don't care enough to push my beliefs on them.

I think the reverse.

Wouldn't they get a job if that was the case?

Not if they're not capable of a successful career. I don't believe that SAHMs just want a job, but I think they're jealous of my value and success in the working world.

Don't feel sorry for me, I wanted big babies. They were my reward and the large size told me I nailed this pregnancy thing.

I loathe the trend of candle-light vigils. I've made it clear to DH that the only candle-light vigil permitted in my name requires a crowd gathered under my death-bed window Evita-style. In the event of my murder or abduction or disappearance - NO CANDLE LIGHT VIGILS allowed - even if that puts DH under suspicion.

Women do not belong in the military.

I believe the complete opposite. Like, women can't actually feel that valuable as a Sahm, right?

Definitely not. Nothing more pathetic.

While I think some working moms legitimately enjoy working, I think a lot of them are still jealous that their husbands don't make enough to give them a choice.

You must not know many women who make over $100,000 then.

If you lose your job, it's easier to pull the kids from private for a while than it is to make giant mortgage payments while you look for a new job. And privates are almost always better than even the good publics in that you can find a good fit for your kid, and have much more say over their education.

A house in a good school district is an appreiciating asset. And private school is full of pretentious twits. No thanks.

At least with the house in a good school district you're only paying once for the combo of housing and education. To have your kids attend private school, you have to pay the school fees for K-12 PLUS pay for a home. If you lose your job you are still paying for your home, you just might be paying less than you would in a better school district, and your kids aren't getting either the best (private) or second best (top public district) education anymore anyway.

First of all, I'm educated so I know you meant "working moms," not "working mom's." And you couldn't pay me to SAH.

I feel the same way about pregnancy and the cult of motherhood. It's voluntary, you don't deserve any accolades.

I don't get this one. So, you think being a mother is nbd? Yes, thank god most of us voluntarily choose to be mothers.

I don't think society should fawn all over pregnant women, but if it weren't for pregnant women, this world would die out in a hurry.

As it stands, population growth is too high. At the rate we're going, the world is going to die out because of *too many* humans, not too few.

If motherhood and pregnancy weren't fetishized (sp?) and worshiped, then perhaps the rate of population growth would decrease a little. Some women would still have kids, and perhaps the ones who still decided to have them would actually be having them for the right reasons.

Society not only fawns all over pregnancy and motherhood, but it makes it VERY difficult for a woman to not choose that path and still be respected as a woman. That's a problem.

Hispanics and AAs are the ones having too many kids, not Europeans.
