Anonymous wrote:Yes, Samantha's had an alley entrance but it also had a front door on L Street. It's Mackey's now and the inside is not much different. It's a popular lunch place still. I have no idea about night time activities.

Coppi's Clevland Park location. I loved that place.
The Cajun place on K Street in Georgetown under the Whitehurst, what was that called, Magnolia or something?
Belmont Cafe in Adams Morgan for brunch.
Lauriol Plaza when it was in its original location at the corner of 18th and S.

Yes loved the old Lauriol Plaza!

Winner right here. I think about that all of the time.

The Sam & Harry's in Dupont! I met President Clinton there!

do tell

It was during the height of the Lewinsky scandal. He came in randomly one night, with Hillary & Barbara Boxer, plus a few others. He chatted with me. very cool.

Kind of reminds me how I had lunch with Sonny Jurgensen waaaay back in the day at the Dancing Crab. I even wrote a college English essay about it!

Isn’t that restaurant in Silver Spring now?

Nora — we had some lovely anniversary dinners there. It was a beautiful— I loved the artwork, especially the textiles — and quiet, so you could have a conversation. Service was knowledgeable and unobtrusive. And the food was delicious. Sigh.
