My kid started Kumon a couple of months ago, has made great progress. Should we mention that in the Appeal? or it doesn't help.

For what it's worth, my kid was accepted in first round with very similar scores, but lower GBRS (12). We had a WISC in the original application (Full Scale 137). So I think you're sitting pretty in the appeal.

I am puzzled too. PP, what was the breakdown of the 91% FxAT? I would think the GBRS said only good things, but was any weakness highlighted? Any chance the child was red-shirted and much older than most others in the grade? Searching for any reason for decision of not eligible in first round. I agree that WISC 149 should now be found eligible.

What are the chances on appeal??

I do not understand why you were not accepted in the first place. But I think you have a very good chance on appeal. GL.

NNAT 146, FxAT 91%, GBRS 13, -- Not in.

I'm puzzled. Your kid should be in the first round. Usually, kids with low GBRS but with good scores not in either because 1) they don't care to stand out 2) Bored about subject matter and not participate. 3) No PTA moms back them up. (Sorry to say that but in our school, it's very true.) Some gifted kids are not good students or behave well (such as poor organizational skills, listening skills, etc ) in a traitional way. But your kids' GBRS score is quite good, meaning her/his teacher had lots of good things to say.

That sounds about right. My kid got in on appeal a few years back, and it seemed like we got the notice about two weeks after school got out.

Last year's schedule:

http://www.fcps.edu/is/aap/pdfs/localplan/AttachmentQQNotice2401.pdf

6/6/12-6/13/12 Convene Level IV appeals committee.
7/2/12 Mail Level IV appeal decisions to parents or guardians and local schools.

PP, you have a great chance on appeal. If there is any hope for DC, with NNAT 142, FxAT 84% and WISC 140 (new evidence), then your chances are fantastic... I am shocked that your child didn't make it in the first round!

Typically the appeals are sent out within two weeks of june 15.

Thanks. I suspected as much. I just need to learn to be patient.

Because the mom cannot wait until the results of appeals are mailed out in June.

I think with an FSIQ of 135 your DC should be in! I would be flabbergasted if your DC wasn't in AAP - that would be an outrage!
