They've confirmed nothing, they are alleging it was cut with a knife or razor in a court filing but they lie all the time.
They have put a Bolo out for the woman in this video, who they claim is damaging the lining in the video. To me it appears she dropped her phone in the pool and is fishing it out (so hard to see through all the algae). I definitely don't see her cutting the lining with a knife, and I don't see how anything she is doing in this video could result in a 50 foot gash in the pool.

These people are going to waste taxpayer dollars arresting and prosecuting random tourists for something that did not happen in order to cover up for the president's incompetence. And the cases will be thrown out because they have no proof and no jury is going to convict some lady of "destruction of government property" for what you see in that video. I'm watching a French news channel and they cover what they call the fiasco of the basin. They note that the President asked an old acquaintance who had done his own pool, and that there is no proof of vandalism.

They cannot tell if it was a knife or it could just be separation at a seam or a worker scraping or the motorcade driving over to cause a natural crack or whatever. And fence posts thrown in? Where is the video? Maybe they just fell off an NPS truck.
If they could provide the video of the random girl grabbing her cell phone or a paint chip out of the pool TEN DAYS later on June 19th, then where is the video of the offenders from June 9th or prior? You know they have FBI pouring over every tiny spec of video tape they have and still no evidence.
And furthermore, people pulling paint chips out of water from an already peeling liner are not vandals!
And therein lies the point of an investigation. With 6 individuals already arrested for vandalism of the pool, we have an ongoing inquest where physical material, footage, and a digital trail of criminality are being gathered. Just because the public isn't privy to it, doesn't negate the evidence.
