Why was Emilia Perez getting so much praise? I tried watching and it was cringe-worthy.

Yep, I'll have what she's having.
Her acceptance award was amazing.

This is all anyone pretty much has to say about Zendaya. Her acting talent is very mediocre.
Movie stars get measured by multiple metrics, not just acting talent/skill. There is also a charisma/magnetism metric (it factor), as well simply looking very good on film. I think Zendaya is middling on acting talent and skill, above average on charisma/magnetism, very high on looking gorgeous on film. Often with actors like that, they get better as they age because the charisma/magnetism never goes away but their skill as an actor improves with experience. Sadly, for women, they start to lose their on-screen looks due to societal expectations and they often don't get a chance to develop as an actor because they stop getting roles. Look at Demi Moore -- she finally got a super meaty role in her 60s after years of not having much at all to work with, and she knocked it out of the park. She had a different quality back at the start of her career than Zendaya has now, but about evenly matched in terms of acting skill (Demi had a habit of over-acting in her early roles, perhaps the result of coming up in soaps, while Zendaya has a tendency to under act but that's also very much the style of this era so she may just be giving directors what they want).
In any case, I can think of plenty of actors less deserving praise than Zendaya. The world needs movie stars and she is one. She's a better actor than Glen Powell (though his on-screen magnetism is through the roof).
That's a lot of words to make up for her marginal acting talent. She was a child star but doesn't seem to be excelling as an adult actress around much more talented women. A pretty face can only get you so far.
NP. Seems like she’s gotten pretty far.

Pretty far. But now she needs to act. This isn’t Americas Next Top Model.

She's good in Challengers and it's not a nothing role. I am struggling to identify other actresses of her generation I like more. Elle Fanning is a great actress but she has a narrow range. I (and a lot of other people) fine Anya Taylor-Joy grating in a lot of things. Millie Bobbie Brown doesn't seem that interested in acting -- what is she even doing these days? I love Pauline Chalamet but she has no film work to speak of (I know her from Sex Lives of College Girls) and she's more of a comedic actresses. Maybe Maude Apatow? I think Sydney Sweeney is an exceedingly mediocre actor, I think her stardom is entirely about her looks. I like Hailee Steinfeld but she's another one who doesn't seem that interested in acting right now -- the only thing I can think of her doing lately is that Marvel show with the Hawkeye character. Selena Gomez is a bit older but same generation and I find her flat affect and vocal tics too distracting to make her particularly versatile (I have not seen Emilia Perez yet).
In general I think there are more men in this crop who are serious acting talents. Chalamet, Tom Holland, Finn Wolfhard. Slightly older but Nicholous Hoult and Miles Teller are in the mix for a lot of the same roles at this point. I don't know why there are fewer women in this upcoming generation who seem really focused on acting specifically. Maybe there are just fewer roles available, maybe younger performers don't view acting as the best use of their efforts if they want a career with longevity (I see the merit in exploring music and branding in terms of just making money and investing in something less subject to the whims of a handful of directors/producers).

I’m very middle aged and find Zendaya charming. I never watched her in Euphoria and didn’t see Challengers but she wa very good in the Spiderman movies and also good in Dune. She has a natural charm and the camera loves her, which goes a long way. I guess we’ll see if she ever gets a really gritty role that doesn’t require her to be charming/beautiful. Sometimes it takes a really extreme toll for people to notice that a beautiful woman can actually act — like Halle Berry in Monsters Ball or Charlize Theron in Monster. (Incidentally, speaking of Demi — GI Jane was supposed to be that role for Demi but it sort of flopped.)

Agree with this. She is a mediocre actress and bland in interviews.
