Subject: SCOTUS outlaws race as college admissions factor
There was no way Harvard was going to let the university be majority Asian so they made up random barriers like extracurricular activities to block more Asians from being accepted. Having good grades wasn’t enough.
Instead of admitting that Ivy Leagues simply do not want more Asians (for whatever reason). Some Asians started blaming black and latino people for “taking their spot”.

The SC is full of sh!t. If they were really about accepting students into universities based solely on merit, then they would be for a blind application where no name, gender, race, ethnicity, and address are known. But they won’t because they know that process would heavily favor Asian applicants.

Sure bud, but try convincing the majority of us to do that. You can't and we won't. History is full of terrible things done to lots of people. But you're not going to convince those of us who are here today that we should make great sacrifices to correct those historical wrongs - wrongs that many of our ancestors didn't perpetuate. I mean, while you're at it, why not just give Manhattan (and perhaps most of the Eastern seaboard) back to the Native Americans?
What great sacrifices are you being asked to make to correct historical wrongs?
None right now. But that's the point. There shouldn't be any. It's trying to correct past wrongs but inflicting burdens upon the current generation.
But it isn’t inflicting damage on anyone. All the schools have all increased enrollment. There are more students of every category than ever before except for white males, but that is because white females have taken the slots they deserved. Admissions are more meritocratic than ever. The Conservative Justices are clueless and detached from reality.
I mean that women are getting the slots that women should have had all along when they were discriminated against. That is the reason white male admissions are down. They used to be 100%. Princeton increased enrollment to admit women then increased enrollment again as they remedied other discriminatory practices and effects.

Did you really think they are at the top of the class because Asians are naturally superior? You made their days look like any other student but it’s not true. The culture is different.
You clearly live, work and play in an UMC area. Not all Asians can afford what you said. Do they tend to value an education? Good behavior? Strong employment? Yes. They're kids work hard. They are mostly very bright, whether or not they can pay for extras. It seems difficult for you to accept their success in academic, math, science, art and music areas over athletics.

Why would African Americans in California get reparations when CA wasn't even a slave state and the west was built by the Chinese?
I don't even know what you mean by "slave state" but there were black slaves in CA.

Areas like Appalachia have White cycles of poverty. There are plenty of Black people who have taken advantage of the opportunities out there that are trying to right the wrongs over the years. Let’s be honest though. Not enough Black Americans are putting education as their children’s priorities. It’s not all about terrible schools. It’s about getting involved in your child’s education, finding activities so they aren’t hanging around. These are the kids who do well, there just aren’t enough of them.
