Isn’t he the guy running against Frisch?
There’s no bigger moron on the School Board, and no bigger stooge among the current candidates, than Karl Frisch.
He spent four years ignoring constituents, wasting money, and trying unsuccessfully to get elected to state office before now deciding to run for re-election and start blitzing people with e-mail updates.
If someone decided to bait Sabio into an argument about 2A, so what? No one could possibly be worse for Providence than Frisch.
I am in that District and both options are freaking terrible. Sabio would not be focused on academics, he would just be harping about evil rainbows and parents' rights.
If you assume both are terrible, then vote for the newcomer (Sabio) to at least send a message that crappy School Board members are one-termers.
Frisch has been insufferable for the last four years; can only imagine how he'll behave if he gets re-elected and goes into full Sally Field "you like me" mode.
Isn't Frisch running for a state level position?

She seems very sincere and concerned about getting the core focus back on academics and improving transparency. She also said she will work on improving facilities and better allocating resources to support teachers rather than growing admin staff at school. Thats what I’d like the board to pay more attention to. There are so many grandstanders on the board today who seem to be more concerned about their political futures than our kids futures. After meeting her, I’m going to got for a Saundra.

I like Moon and McDaniel. Not a big fan of McElveen, but I’m not buying what Davis is selling either.
McDaniel seemed OK in 2019 but he’s now trying to be all things to all people (he’s far-left but a macho pilot, a traditional married dad with kids but a member of the LBGTQ community, etc.). And he keeps spouting off about political issues that have nothing to do with FCPS.
No thanks. Even McElveen would be better.

It’s probably the top issue that might persuade a lot of Dranesville voters who normally vote for the Democratic candidate to switch sides and vote for an GOP candidate instead and he has nothing to say. Instead, it’s all the usual stuff about “parents’ rights” not being respected in FCPS.
He’ll be lucky to pull 40% this fall.
That is not true! I’ve spoken with Paul, and renovating overcrowded McLean HS is one of his top priorities.
Addressing overcrowding is right on his website:
“
I will also focus on solving the overcrowding problems in schools without placing burdens on students and families; the two groups who suffer consequences from overcrowding despite having no hand in causing the problem.”
What’s on his web site could just mean spending as little as possible on FCPS facilities across-the-board (which some GOP candidates usually tend to favor) and reassigning more McLean kids to Langley and/or Falls Church.
If he wants to get more than 35-40% of the vote he’ll have to be less vague than what you’ve quoted.
How does Robyn Lady plan to bring overcrowding relief to McLean HS? She was a counselor there so she is very familiar with how MHS has been neglected in many aspects, particularly with its facility. Since she has been also been with FCPS for a long time and has seen how MHS compares to other schools (facility and capacity wise), what is she proposing to help with overcrowding relief at MHS?
