When I was 29 I was driving a red Jeep at 4am by myself and I kinda saw a cop way back behind me. I was dead sober. I actually feel asleep on GFs sofa on a Thursday watching a movie and was driving home cause I had work the next day

As I approached the county line an unmarked car came out of now here cut me off and the cop car behind boxes me in.

Cop comes out with gun puts it towards my head yells put hand in dashboard don’t move Fing hands and a third cop car boxes me in one left side.

I stay quite hand in dash. Finally he puts gun away.

Turns out someone carjacked same exact Jeep I had same color with a discription of single man age late 20s.

As I was approaching county line unless in hot pursuit could not follow and was running plates when he pulled me over.

I would have been shot of did not follow directions.

Exactly - follow police directions. You wont get hurt. It's so GD simple it's painful.

What about Breonna Taylor and Botham Jean?

Cherry pickers gonna cherry pick. Twitter and mainstream media has convinced you that you know what is really going on. You have NO IDEA

Why do you keep calling it cherry picking. People are stating absolutes. Follow the rules and you won't be killed. Pointing out lies isn't cherry picking. It's pointing out that someone is wrong.

Here's a pro tip for people whose knowledge of law enforcement is limited to angrily searching up stuff on the internet. The reason this is a big case is because there are a million cops who take people into custody on a daily basis without incident. You will never see the thousands of incidents where officers use force responsibly or don't use sufficient force, which is also a problem.

“Follow police directions and you won’t get hurt” is f#cking false in many, many scenarios backed up by lots of evidence. Sorry your worldview is so black and white as to be completely wrong.

Perhaps many cases but still probably less than .001 percent of arrests. You are honk most incarcerated people resist arrest?

So that’s your excuse for summary executions?

Not relevant. Stop resisting.

This was not a “summary execution.” The police did not intend to kill this man. They may have been recklessly indifferent but his death was not purposeful.

They didn’t intend to kill him. They were just softening him up before taking him out for tea and cookies. The poor man had the nerve to die.

Puerile emotionalism sarcasm doesn’t change the facts. They intended to subdue him. They didn’t just shoot him in the back of the head.

You don’t understand “Intent to kill” definition.

They formed intent to kill when they intentionally beat him enough to die.

If you shoot at somebody with the intent to kill them and miss them but kill somebody else, you are charged with “intent to kill”.

If you intentionally beat someone to death … even if your intent was not necessarily to kill, you formed intent to kill by doing something intentionally that killed them.

No, you don’t understand the difference between “some degree of homicide” and “summary execution.”

The issue to which the relevant posts was directed was not whether, when and to what extent any given defendant formed the mens rea sufficient to support a conviction for some degree of homicide. It was whether what occurred was a summary execution. It was not.

For an illustration of summary execution see the shooting down in the street of Viet Kong Captain Nguyễn Văn Lém by South Vietnamese General Nguyễn Ngọc Loan in February 1, 1968, during the Tet Offensive.

A summary execution is an execution in which a person is accused of a crime and immediately killed without the benefit of a full and fair trial.

This literally is what happened to Tyre.

If there was even a scintilla of merit to this argument the police involved would be charged with murder, not second degree murder.

Exaggeration does not move the hall down the field toward a solution to the problem of excessive police force.

The charges will be upgraded for at least three of the cops

I did not see “willing to follow.” I think they hire lowest common denominator because no one wants to do this job given the perils. But it’s astonishing to see. Like the inmates running the asylum.

I see a lot of following in these videos. It's herd/gang mentality. They all fed off each other. The departments want people who follow orders without much questioning. Well, when your culture is rotten and you've got a bunch of herd mentality meatheads on your force, you get stuff like this, where no one had the will or the brains to say maybe we shouldn't be doing this.

I think they had an implicit agreement to go rogue (and probably regularly did). I don’t see it as following official culture. I see it as defying it. Like criminals.

You really want to keep pretending all these incidents are one offs? What's it gonna take for some of yall to admit we have a police culture problem? The only difference between them and the criminals is the badge.

They don't care how much evidence disproves their nonsense. It's similar to saying you won't get raped if you don't wear short skirts or don't drink in mixed company. It's never the aggressive men who can't control their anger or need for power, it's always the fault of the victim who provoked them by existing.

THAT said, I cannot help but find it peculiar/strange/odd/unusual HOW swift the action was taken and how EVERYONE is condemning the cops this time, even FOX and their cohorts. I can’t help but to think that the fact that they are all black is playing a role into this.

I will reserve judgment until the next cop brutality case happens, by a white coo, to see how their PD and society in general reacts.

My guess is this was discussed nationwide in LE circles after George Floyd. The powers that be want to avoid nationwide riots. Even state governors are putting out statements condemning what happened. I think we'll continue to see this kind of response in the future.

What we really need is a sea-change in police mentality. They think they're hunters, and the public is their prey. They think it's open season on the public, year round. This has got to stop already.

I was reading about a similar program in Miami that went seriously awry, with cops harassing little teen-aged school children, their families and their friends. Hard to believe this sh*t is happening in the USofA.

“Their job is to identify the target area, flood that area with officers and suppress crime in that area mostly by visibility,” said Memphis Police Deputy Chief Don Crowe. “Just being present and having an officer there sees an impact on it.”

Yet they have unmarked cruisers. 🤔

Also, some of the police audio has these officers requesting backup from other Scorpion units.

There are unmarked cars and “unmarked cars.” It’s pretty likely everybody knew these guys were cops.

It’s really stupid to have unmarked cars, or “unmarked cars,” routinely making traffic stops in bad neighborhoods.

Anyway, it’s gone now.
