No she wouldn't have? They were divorced.

I don’t think Diana would still be alive today, even if the car crash hasn’t happened.

She probably would be alive if Charles and Camilla were not adulterous people. Still, would have been married with proper protection and drivers.

Being publicly cheated on is horrendous, but Diana had plenty of problems.

Her insecurities were from her husband.

Amazing how dying young makes saints out of people.

Her mental health issues started way before that. Not judging, but it played a role.

The country owns them not the family.

Some of the jewels are the Queen’s personal property, and I assume will be dispensed according to her will. Many of the jewels, including the “Crown Jewels,” belong to the Crown, so they will be under Charles’s control.

No they don't get dispensed, they get kept in a line - so Camilla can wear them and then Kate.

Interesting - so the Queen doesn't will any of them specifically? Does she have personal property/items she can pass through a will?

She can will her personal jewels as she pleases. The pieces that belong to the Crown stay in the vault.

Yep so Camilla will have first pick and will probably reserve a few for her personal exclusive use (which she already has but may start wearing ones that were reserved for QEII only). Catherine will either get second pick or Charles/Camilla will loan specific ones out to her.

It’s so disrespectful calling the late Queen Elizabeth II by the name of a ship, the QEII. Please stop.

LOL

She'll always be QEII to me.

I also LOLed but then searched and realized the ship wasn't named after Queen E herself (RIP). She did name the ship though when it was re-launched in the 60's! I literally always thought it was named after her. TIL. My mom went on one of the final voyages in 2018.

Wouldn’t it be the other way around? An American is a descendant of Diana and William?

Frances Ellen Work (October 27, 1857 – January 26, 1947) was an American heiress and socialite. She was a great-grandmother of Diana, Princess of Wales, and her great-great-grandchildren include Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.

And where were Frances ancestors from? Unless Native American Indian, they probably were from Europe or England.

Frances Ellen Work was still American, not of English nobility or aristocracy.

How the heck did Princess Di have American blood?

Wealthy American heiresses were married off to broke English nobility. Princess Di's great-grandmother was American.

I wonder who will get her beautiful jewels and clothes?

Beautiful clothes? Not post-1955. But all that stuff will go into storage to be pulled out for random museum tours.

Just like Queen Elizabeth I.

In later years she didn’t wear anything fabulous but skirt suits. Many of former Kings and Queens had beautiful embroidery on their gowns and capes.
