From what I remember Chris Whittle went through a strategic divorce perhaps to protect their assets.

As for the first question, I remember Dennis’s wife asking via email for donations to feed the boarders and to pay the teachers. Not too sure about the second question.

Anything related to Pira Trust in the papers is his wife’s assets. Many of the mortgages on his properties were provided by Pira which is an owner of some of the Whittle homes.

Read the documents filed in this case a few days ago in NY: PURE EAST GLOBAL INVESTMENTS LIMITED vs. WHITTLE, H. CHRISTOPHER et al

Global Education Investments LTD in the Caymans was one of many of his offshore accounts.

He personally took in $25M in about 2017--which has ballooned now to about $40M owed--he paid some of it back in Nov 2019 when presumably he robbed Peter to pay Paul with some fresh cash.

Call up David Yeung, who filed the lawsuit above, reporters--he will tell you what went down and confirm as the docs do, that last October he filed notice that he was foreclosing--and did in fact foreclose in March 2022(this being totally unrelated to the foreclosures on the real estate in DC). 

So..parents: if you were Venmo'ing the teachers and the starving boarders in March, some seriously material information was likely withheld from you.

Can you elaborate on this? I understand that when funds were solicited from parents to make up shortfalls, that these funds were diverted to offshore accounts-presumably to circumvent US tax laws. Is this what you mean?

The lawsuits I’m watching for are the fraudulent transfer/clawback suits.
