PVI had no messaging, indication or scheduling to indicate that Loyola was showing up to their field to play. Coaches @ PVI make the schedule. Loyola school/coach/staff NEVER communicated with PVI AD, PVI Coach, etc., to suggest or schedule the game w/ PVI.

PVI coaching staff got word that Loyola were standing on PVI field. PVI coachign staff went to school to introduce themselves. PVI maxed-out 18-game scheduling of season in January. Loyola was never on that schedule to begin with. PVI would take that oppty to play every time.

The leagues are working on adopting a shot clock, but it could take longer to implement due to the shortage of officials and the training needed.

The Virginia refs are the worst. They need just generally training. You either get the ones who thinks it’s still middle school rules and call every check or ones who call absolutely nothing. Maryland refs are much better.

Which only means any of either league’s top teams can win on any given day. And that’s a great thing for the sport.

Both PVI & SJC earned first ever program wins against ISL powerhouses SSSAS & Visitation. Neither made it to the WCAC final. Parity is here.

STJ girls had a bad year, at least compared to expectations with their D1 committs. That they beat Visi is shocking.

If expectations were high for SJC, why would the Visi win be shocking? Not following the hate

But let’s face it - you really didn’t have high expectations for SJC. No one did. Elitists here routinely dismissed them. “Some good players but no real depth,” they said. Folks mocked SJC for their past lax records on these very pages. Now you say people expected more from them?

Others (maybe you?) boasted off-season that their teams would run their leagues. Never heard that coming from SJC nation.

Sure - they would love to have some losses back. But overall it was a good year for the program. SJC set team records by beating BI and Visi and now have a DCSAA trophy in their school case. But they will go into next year believing everyone is counting them out. And that’s exactly where they want to be.

Good read for all the SJC haters …

Geez, what happened to Visi at the end of the year?

They didn’t really play anyone this year - weak schedule. That is also why they aren’t ranked. Big loss to PVI early in the season didn’t help.

DMV lax is more competitive than ever and the level of play is off the charts. The best part? Talent is no longer concentrated among the perennial favorites. It’s everywhere. The parity among the top teams in the ISL and WCAC is clear. Congrats to SJC on a gutsy win today.
