No way that was the plan. That is the “out”. If they can pull it off.
Even American air power never won other than dropping nuclear weapons. Fallujah Proved that after it was empty and ruble.
I think Russians are going to have to go street to street at some point where they will take massive losses.

Sadly their medieval siege tactics will kill thousands of Ukrainian civilians.
It's sad they have such little manpower yet can still do so much damage.
Israeli satellite images show Russia has moved numerous heavy bombers to airfields near the Ukrainian border.
Looks like they plan to reduce Kyiv to rubble and ashes.

Sign of deep weakness.
And.... this is just what China was playing this Game to get.
Russia is, if look look at its land mass, more of an Asian country than a European one. The far western corner of Russia ( Moscow to the St Pete border ) is European culturally. The rest is Asian, Tartars, Kazachs, and its long under belly straddles the central asian Republics.
China needs a bread basket and a petro source for its growing economy.
They are about to OWN Russia and Putin is handing his nation over to them. Why ? Because he lost his job in his 30's and was forced to work part time as a Taxi driver....and ever since has been determined to get back the USSR
frying pan to FIRE in trying to prevent Nato for Ukraine
China passes that broken down 1950’s country about a decade ago. This just shows how far the Russians have fallen. The Russians use to supply the Chinese with arms…now they are begging the Chinese to give them arms, logistical support, ammo, etc The Russians are running out of missiles, drones, everything.
I think it is literally impossible for Ukraine or Russia to run out of 7.62 ammo (for AK-47).
They literally may have billions of rounds each.
I think it is more of a food issue; maybe drones. Putin has got to be annoyed at how bad his military actually is.
They are asking artillery shell, missiles, smart and dumb bombs, etc so yes they are running out of munitions

- except Russia officially adopted the AK-74 way back in, not coincidentally - 1974, nearly a half century ago.
The AK-74 uses ammunition which is NOT compatible with ammo for the venerable ‘47.
But they likely have billions of rounds - if not a trillion or more - saved up for the “new” AK-74, and its more modern variants chambered for 5.45x39mm Russian ammunition.

Russians announced they will heavily attack all arms shipment. The window for sending in arms has closed or closing.
It’s an empty threat. The Russians have no capability to strike mobile targets in western Ukraine. They are out of PGMs and have no ground forces there.
