Will Hurd could probably grab both Republicans and Democrats, if he could make the ticket. Unfortunately, he won't.
Republicans are not interested in anyone normal. The wackier the better for them.

Uh, that's because he no longer holds public office. It's pretty amazing how the R's stop drinking the Kool Aid and towing the MAGA line when they're reelection hopes don't depend on it.
