We got our first shot there this past Saturday. They had a table allowing you to schedule your 2nd shot in the waiting area. The nearest appointment was about 24 days out, which is fine. I'm not looking to go back to the Tysons mall on a Saturday during the holiday shopping season.

When I was there last week, they had tables set up so that you could schedule your appointment during the 15 minute waiting period. That's where they directed me after the kids' shots.

Same experience. Something is wrong with the link they sent by email to book the second shot. I just went back in and booked as if they were new shots for 12/1 after school and it worked.

If you are in MD and having problems finding a vaccine clinic or pharmacy near you with open appointments, consider this.

PG County has opened pediatric vaccination clinics around the county. There is a fixed location at the Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro. There are mobile clinics set up in various high schools and elementary schools. The mobile clinics in the high schools are once/week (I took my kids to Bowie HS on Monday, but Eleanor Roosevelt HS in Greenbelt is on Tuesdays, and High Point HS in Beltsville is on Fridays). The web-site says they are making appointments, but when we went on MOnday, they put everyone in the same walk-in line whether they had appointments or not.

Additionally, although the web-site says it is for county residents only, they volunteers at Bowie on Monday were accepting anyone in line. There was at least one family from Anne Arundel county and at least two families from Howard County in line and everyone who waited in line was given a vaccination.

I had appointments for my two kids on 11/18, which I canceled after I got them vaccinated at the walk-in clinic on Monday (11/8).

Apparently there are tons of appointments available at Sela Charter School today - I think you can just walk up.

I realized I’d rather have an appointment than roll the dice bringing kids to a spot far away from our neighborhood. Luckily we found two in VA.

Glad it worked out. The clinics seemed to have burned through the initial rush and it seems likely that the lines are going to be minimal going forward.

CVS has a lot of appointments open now, mostly in DC or VA, closer to Thanksgiving.
