Makes me wonder if maybe your team is just not very good.

You’re so off base it’s practically a talent. But don’t lose sleep over it — you’ll never know just how wrong you are. We’ll be busy playing and beating the piss out of you every Valor game ahead, so grab some popcorn and enjoy the ride.

Most of the sponsors are local businesses whose kids play for valor and whose parents are trying to suck up.

this is travel Valor not rec, have you ever pitched to a sponsor?

its Valor, they take everyone so its basically rec. Their sponsors are all hyper local people with kids in the program trying to get advantages.

Yes exactly. This is why people get so bitter when they lose to valor and have to explain their loss as victims of cheating.

This clown. Oh, it's just fine. Other clubs could totally be pulling the same stunt and obliterating valor every single game like we did this weekend. Valor parents didn’t seem to be smiling this weekend.

playing an ECNL team against a division 7 team is not cheating?

I think putting 8 RL players to play down in a tournament with an NCSL division 7 team is cheating, personally. No tournament lets you have 8 guest players.

Yep. Looks like Valor teams are 50% of the tournament, such that their own teams are in the same brackets. They aren't going to say boo to their biggest, cheating customer.

Let me help you understand the economics of why they do that. Years ago, each team would collect dues to fund team specific tournaments. Those were the DA for boys and ECNL for girls days. Then clubs like valor got smart and "included" tournament dues within the total cost season dues. This allowed them to leverage economies of scale by placing a bunch of teams into a tournament and therefore drive down the cost. Keep in mind, you as the parent won't see any of those savings. This is why you see all these teams put into the same tournament so you can't put your 2nd or 3rd tier team into a Bethesda Cup or some big EDP event, you have to put your ECNLR into a Williamsburg tournament or something. Paul Ellis still makes a lot of these decisions, which is why Valor will continue to struggle. He needs to be limited to a coach only role as soccer from an TD/Admin level has moved beyond his comprehension.

how does the coach of a division 7 team contact the parents of their ECNL RL team?

Thru the manager
