Sounds like MLSN can’t just do what they want… queue the top dog guy lol

More like when when trying to appeal to a broder base MLS has to deal with groups of people that dont share an Academy mentality.

I hope they do the right thing and boot the troublemakers. I'm sure the option is being considered. An Academy mentality is what makes MLS different and is why youth players flock to MLS clubs.

Yes! And MLSN tiers of cannot work on a SY system. You really think parents are going to drive and fly and pay all this money and give loads of time under the guise they might one day go to a MLSN pro academy and then do even more unnecessary traveling for one match at a time and pretend they have a realistic chance at going pro if they change the age cutoff to Aug 1st? The whole system would blow up. As it stands, PP is right on, MLSN is top dog! People flock to MLSN and they will lose all that and the ability to recruit the best players unless they stay BY. They will live or die with this decision and I pray to God they make the right one!

The jealousy just seathes out of every word you write.

Quite entertaining.

Top clubs dont bioband and neither do top players. So no one really cares about it.

For MLSN not a big deal either way because of biobanding they have additional flexibility. They could stay and bioband the younger players and just increase the amount of biobands or switch to SY and then bioband the new Q3/4s. So Jan to July.

Exactly, just up the number of biobanders from 3 to 10 or make biobanding unlimited but bound by 7 months and you have SY but in BY format.
Theres multiple ways to address. Or MLS can just ignore SY and let the ECNL parents cry about it.

SY in MLSN will not cause as much stir as ECNL, because biobanding can always allow older players to play down one year in the younger group, so MLSN parents see no difference between BY and SY.

I would guess most clubs make strict policies to make everyone make the age change. If they dont, one of their younger ages, probably like current 17s or 18s or 19s or so, would be at a HUGE disadvantage as they would have a much smaller player pool of kids only coming from the youngest 7 months of eligibility. Would think parents of that team would not be thrilled. And that would happen unless universal team change is required.

They are not going to solve this with biobanding. No one wants to be biobanded and most clubs dont use it or rarely use it. They are going to go either BY or SY and live with the consequences

You are wrong ! MLSN expectations are to have us play as professionals at an international level. Even if we don’t play oversees unless our moms and dads pay a little bit extra. But my friends at the MLS affiliated MLSN academies are even more potential to play oversees and have to be ready when it happens! They are like navy seals. Our training is so intense and the only reason we play is to go pro ask anyone. You just have no idea what you are talking about. Moving the age cutoff would ruin everything and we could not ever be the same.

Hey Al Bundy your time has come and gone. It's sad and pathetic that you're trying to dump on playing professionally.

This guy (or kid)is hilarious, don’t scare him away

Here we are not talking about pro soccer, but YOUTH soccer (where RAE means a lot).

Hahaha now the rae zealots come out of the woodwork. Right on queue.

Poor January kids’ dads, suffering because their sons won’t have any more the physical and maturity advantage, hahaha.

It’s okay now they can bioband down it all evens out.

100% this. Has to be the oldest to stay in the MLSN team, just biobanding to play down.
