roflmao on a serious note its common out here. Some parents ive seen have volunteered to stay next to the $$ to keep some semblance of power for their ds/dd. Kid started who had no real legitimate reason to start other than their parents knowing the clubs dirty financial laundry.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:serious question is this not allowed or frowned upon. We’re gonna have to up our donations to the club to ensure playing time. What are other families donating? $10k or $25k?
My kid was going to start regardless but its a nice write off
Oh it’s quite standard in DMV pay to play. $10k is the minimum to have a little sway. Board membership helps provide an ongoing voice of entitlement.
+100 to all of this but these sort of unsavory payments don't go only to the club, which are traceable and could raise questions. the smart money goes under the table to the coaches/soccer directors in the form of private training, vacations, car stipends, etc.
Imagine finding out in your 20's your parents payed bribes for you to get off the bench

Practice tees are too damn high!
The Practice tees are not that expensive when you consider the fact that they are made with the pelts of the Amur Leopard. It's widely known that these Amur Leopard pelts create the softest t-shirts in the world. And since the Amur Leapard is endangered, there are a very limited supply of these shirts. Each are one of a kind. That's why we bought 3.
