Many thought it was just directed to Russian journalists, but now Ukrainians are complaining about western journalists too: https://www.rt.com/russia/583114-kiev-west-combat-war-fatigue/

The security chief accused “reputable and influential” Western media outlets of publishing materials suggesting Ukraine’s much-hyped summer counteroffensive is failing, Kiev’s troops are unable to take back territory from Russia, and Moscow’s resources are “limitless.” These sentiments slow down the Western military assistance to Kiev and stand in the way of Ukraine’s “peace formula,” Danilov added.

Given how unhinged Ukraine has become, and how much leeway they've gotten with terrorism, they probably feel they can go after western targets too.

Zelensky is fighting to keep his people from being murdered, raped, tortured. At least those that can fight back are given that chance with weapons; and these are people who would fight not to live under Russian rule.

But as bad as the War is, take heart that the Russians are paying the price for their aggression. Seems that even North Korea is distancing itself from Putin?

"Finally, I attended a marine mammal show at the Primorsky Oceanarium."
https://www.yahoo.com/news/russians-report-drone-attacks-crimea-110900983.html

"Video posted on Telegram by the Russian Natural Resources Minister Alexander Kozlov showed Kozlov, Moscow's ambassador to North Korea, Alexander Matsegora, and governor of Russia's far eastern Primorsky region, Oleg Kozhemyako, seeing off the North Korean leader at the end of his week-long visit."
https://www.yahoo.com/news/north-koreas-kim-heads-home-132555290.html

The highest-level Russian blowing kisses was the Natural Resources Minister. This looks like a 'don't-let-the-door-hit-you-on-the-way-out' video.

"Russians tried to prioritize the elimination of traitors who refused to fight til the end."
[2:40 / 4:35] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6_kApQ6WsQ

Makes sense this is happening more and more.

Klishchiivka will help cut off M03 from Russian ground traffic:
https://www.yahoo.com/news/ukraines-armed-forces-explain-significance-202207453.html

"In total, at least five regiments of Russian Airborne Forces from the 7th and 76th divisions are now likely to be concentrated a few kilometres from the front line village of Robotyne."
"this group should have about 10,000 elite paratroopers at full strength. However, almost all these units are likely faced with a significant lack of personnel."
https://www.yahoo.com/news/russia-deploys-elite-paratroopers-large-070759652.html

"some of the best and most well-trained units of the Russian army have been defeated and lost combat effectiveness on the Bakhmut front: among them are the 72nd Separate Motorised Rifle Brigade, the 31st and the 83rd separate air assault brigades"
https://www.yahoo.com/news/russians-lost-best-units-bakhmut-132840081.html

The Russians also figured out just how important M14 is to tens of thousands of Russian troops in Sevastopol. But it may all be too-little-too-late.

"Republican senators demand that Biden immediately hand over ATACMS missiles to Ukraine"
"In particular, the longer-range unitary warhead variant of ATACMS should be sent without delay."
https://www.yahoo.com/news/republican-senators-demand-biden-immediately-044146003.html

The Ukrainians just need to remember to take out as many AA radars as possible (or at least exhaust the AA missiles so they can hit targets while AA is reloading) to make best use of them. That's what cheap drones can do best - ferret out AA while looking for Targets-of-Opportunity. Once they locate AA, then a HARM missile would work. Russian AA only has to 'go blind' a short time for ATACMS to be 100% effective, so I hope Ukraine gets a shipment of F-16's and HARM missiles at the same time. I still think A-10's and Vulcan's would help neutralize Russian front-line ground defenses. Old school, but effective.

My guess is that once Crimea has been cut off logistically, the Kremlin will be under heavy internal political pressure to withdraw. My guess is that many, many sons of important public officials, party members, FSB officers, high-ranking military are stationed there. They were probably assured by Kremlin officials that it was 'safe' and that Ukraine would never put them in danger there.

For the people asking why we aren't sending F-35s to Ukraine. Here is a good example: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/f-35-fighter-jet-missing-pilot-ejects-mishap-rcna105534

Its not just been lost, but its been lost lost. The Ukrainians would lose half the planes before they got to Russian airspace.

Sorry goys, we caught your leader with a fancy watch. Time to shut down all your churches and steal their property. If its any consolation you can take your family to a drag brunch instead. No hard feelings right?

Most understand this is a proxy war, but very few understand who the proxies are actually fighting for.

LOL.
This is a war because one country (undeniably) attacked another. It is that simple.

Do you know why there is a North Korea and south?

Because when America called and suggested dividing it at the end of WW2 Stalin was drunk and said ok?
Well, maybe not drunk but he did not give a sh!t about Korea and was focused on Europe occupation.
No one knows why Russia was so stupid to agree to it; but they punted it to China and made some “trust” for 5 years that imploded and now we are stuck with 2 koreas.

There were no American forces anywhere near Korea at the end of the war. Just Russians in the north.
No real logic for Stalin to give it up.

America fought in Korea to protect Japan from socialists, not for the sake of Koreans. Read Cumings. The Korean right despises him for pointing out inconvenient truths of how America placed Japanese collaborators in places of power in Korea, and backed brutal in democratic South Korean dictators for decades. The Korean War is not an apt analogy to use wrt to Ukraine’s struggle.

The point is not about 1910 when Japanese occupation became a thing - the point is that Stalin made an arbitrary decision with no grand plan when he agreed to split Korea. Just a random decision.

It happens all the time in life.

Putin invaded Ukraine with some “vision”, but no real plan. The US did set a trap or have some giant scheme to bog down Russia in a real war. Putin made a decision to invade, Stalin agreed to split Korea; it is that simple.
The world deals with consequences.

If you look at Russias borders with Finland they have less than 20% of their forces on the border than pre-war. Russia is not worried about a NATO invasion.

The concept that NATO wanted this fight or does not want it stop is comical. NATO just wants Russia to lose to Ukraine.

I can see that support for Ukraine is still quite strong in the US; I don’t see it completely waning even if republicans win the elections.
On the other hand ukraine doesn’t get enough to defeat Russia completely.
So I guess it’s grinding on
On the other hand people get tired of everything like they got tired of covid
But I guess low level conflict is going to last for decades, Syria and Iraq and Palestine style

This will be a long war. However, as long the US and its Allies are not harmed or asked to sacrifice I see no problem with it.
