There’s an entire thread for VRSC that’s full of hate.

Think of it this way. You set up the drill. The more advanced kids that have it down you then add in defenders. So it's harder for the top team but all the kids even on the lower team are taught how to shift and move the ball. I don't see how this is a bad thing.
Are they all in practice together or are the top kids playing against just their own team?
All separate.
Someone posted above that their team 1 always practices with Team 2 so I guess you only know what your own age group does.

And that's the problem. Herndon and GFR are the two options there. Both of those threads are just as bad if not worse than Valor. Not everyone can drive 40 min to an hour each way to practice 3 to 4 days a week. So we settle for Valor for all it's faults because unfortunately it's still a better option for our children and families ability to get them to practice.

I know of several Valor kids that are at VSA now. But that's a hike if you don't live more on the Centreville end of things. There are actually a lot of options within 20-30 min. I think it partly depends on how much you want to drive and how serious your kid wants to get. And a lot depends on the specific gender and age group.
