He's saying kids from the DMV has a 98% acceptance rate at VT, not that VT is in the DMV......

That history you talk about, were kids recruited back when the club was ECNL.

if it weren't for VA Tech taking 30% of it's players from FCV - FCV would have nothing these days. The 2021 FCV recruiting class is a fiasco as far as quality schools.

140 players on the call, casting a wide net. Most people would be thrilled to have their DD recruited by an ACC school, in state, great education. Please tell me what's wrong with that?

Agree. Not sure what the PP’s point was. 30% to a D1 ACC school. Every club in America would take that track record.

Read again.. not 30% of the club goes to VT - but 30% of the VT roster is FCV. It's an OK school with about 98% acceptance rate in the DMV.

You’re obviously not from the DMV because people from the DMV don’t say DMV.....and VT certainly isn’t the DMV. The DMV is DC and the suburbs only.

Now, VT does not have a 99 percent acceptance rate. In fact, a heck of a lot of wealthy and successful people in NOVA went to Tech. Don’t kid yourself. College is overpriced and overrated. Paying more to go out of state or private is foolish.

Finally, Tech is a big time ACC girls soccer program.

DMV is what everyone calls this area. Read a few of these forums. Good grief. EVERYONE calls it the DMV. Tech accepts almost every single kid with a 3.0 or above - at least in NOVA. Congratulations your kid got into 13th grade of HS in Blacksburg.

I know a lot of rich people that went to Radford.

Non sequitur.

The statement follows the above statement. Therefore, it sequiturs. I think. I went to Radford. So, you know

So it literally sequiturs but does not logically sequitur. It is also unclear whether the people were rich before or after going to Radford. And it kind of doesn’t matter. Becoming rich does not make it a good school. Not becoming rich does not make it a poor school. College now is basically what high school was 40 years ago. A given. It’s all about where you work or learn after the BA. People are WAY too caught up in it and don’t realize how very little difference it makes for kids with real talent.

Not going to school to be broke.

Seeing as how this is about soccer.. no one would go to a school for soccer to go broke. If a kid is going to a very expensive school and playing soccer - you can rest assured they are getting significant money to do so. And they likely had to test in / get accepted. They are smart kids - great negotiation skills. YOU are not the only one that understands money. If they are at an out of state school or an instate private school - I can promise you they are getting a lot of soccer money. (And they are smarter than a Radford grad)

I hear 30% of Radford starters played at VDA. Or maybe it was BRYC? Is that true, cuz that’s just shameful. Signed the anti-NOVA soccer guy.

If Radford called my kid and offered money, they’re going. And I would wear the sweatshirt proudly.

Radford kids know how to party. That serves them well in sales and other soft skill jobs.
