And that was before they took over the girls DA (where each player pays about $5k). (https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/275434943). The DA is a cash cow for Pipeline. SAC is no longer involved and there are huge player fees/dues and limited expenses. (ex. They don’t play tournaments). Don’t see why they’d give that up.
The Pipeline Harford County expansion looks to be a bunch of former Celtic teams that appear to have followed Brandon Quaranta over to Pipeline and are now playing under the Pipeline club name.
As for the lawsuit. I’ve heard that ECNL isn’t going to accept Pipeline until it’s closed/settled. (http://casesearch.courts.state.md.us/casesearch/inquiryDetail.jis?caseId=C03CV19001865&loc=55&detailLoc=ODYCIVIL). The issue is that ECNL may not want to pick up a club that could fold due to a lawsuit. And you can call it a joke, but it’s survived dismissal motions by Pipeline and looks to be headed to trial (Coppermine is asking for $2-3mill to settle).
Does anyone know what happened with this lawsuit? Rumor has it that Pipeline is no longer allowed to participate in Elite-sponsored tournaments (e.g. OBGC, WAGS, all the SAC/Columbia tournaments). Any truth to that rumor?
