UVA’s campus is average, and Charlottesville is a dump. I know I’m in the majority here on that statement, but I continue to be amazed by people who think Charlottesville is a cute college town.



Strange. I live there and love it. Beautiful scenary. Great views. Superb golfing. UVA is often listed as most beautiful campus in the US and is the only american university on the UNESCO world heritage site. Lots to do and things to see.

Not saying it's not a good school or that you can't have a good time there. The campus, however, isn't even close to being among the most beautiful in the US.

Disagree. There isn't a single style, but it is eclectic Chicago House, generally over the course of 100 years. And Bascom is as good as any "quad" in the US, and the hill itself has wonderful views.

Everyone has a different threshold, but Madison and UW are universally praised for being one of the best campuses and university settings in the country.

Agree with the Ole Miss posters. It may not be an outstanding school. But the campus is by far the most beautiful I’ve seen in the US.

I’ve seen quite a few college campuses and nothing beats the Union terrace on the lake in Madison or the walk up Bascom Hill.
