Disagree. There isn't a single style, but it is eclectic Chicago House, generally over the course of 100 years. And Bascom is as good as any "quad" in the US, and the hill itself has wonderful views.
Everyone has a different threshold, but Madison and UW are universally praised for being one of the best campuses and university settings in the country.
