Girls DA in DMV begins at U13. So there is technically no 07 Girls DA teams currently although there are certainly 07s playing on U13 and above DA teams.
Washington Spirit is not a youth soccer program so yes technically they do not have pre DA teams. Although WS VA does have an affiliation with the youth program of Great Falls Reston. Unlike other DA teams to date most of their players are from other clubs.
It’s not confusing. You are confusing the terms club and team. FCV and Arlington are clubs. They are DA clubs that have 07 teams. These teams are not DA but feed into the DA teams. Many of those 07 players will be DA in U13 next year.
Whatever DA club these 07 Arlington and FCV players end up on is going to be worse than both McLean and Loudoun 07 ECNL teams unless they pick up some 07s from outside of Arlington or FCV.
Don't worry your pretty little head about Arlington or FCV.
Right, don’t worry about them, obviously they’ll pick up kids from outside. That’s what they do!
Things have changed. There are only a couple of kids from the outside that are attending DA sessions. FCV used to get Loudoun Red players as a pipeline. Now they are all staying at Loudoun for ECNL. For the 07s Arlington and FCV will certainly be worse than Loudoun and McLean.
FCV's U18/19 teams have about 15 kids from outside of Loudoun County. That does not present Loudoun Soccer as a dedicated "pipeline" to FCV. Loudoun kids after U13/14 are likely sprinkled at many clubs from FCV, McLean and BRYC. It only takes 4-5 top players leaving for wherever to completely change the dynamic of a team. Certainly not every kid on Loudoun Red left for greener pastures but enough certainly did over the years.
But to imply that a FCV team is really a Loudoun team, that is not true.
ECNL at Loudoun changed this dynamic going forward. You may not know the 07s but I do. None of them are going to FCV or elsewhere. Zero. There has already been 5 ID Sessions this year at FCV so this is not speculation.
