Sometimes the best kids have parents that can’t or choose not to pay the private school tuition. The clubs help to provide another alternative

Problem with that is that the best talent is from close in public schools and, at least for now, the privates

The problem with this statement is that so long as public schools keep the policy of providing super seniority to public school employees first, they will never get the best coaches and the best players won't enroll. A majority of the best kids will enroll in privates to get better coaching and exposure.

And PW county has some good players too that could go to PVI.

Wrong and wrong. The best public school and private school talent in N.VA is in Loudoun. PVI will be in Loudoun next year but the kids are already living in Loudoun. However VLC is also getting lots of Fairfax kids as well.

VLC is becoming more and more a Loudon and west of Loudon club. Problem with that is that the best talent is from close in public schools and, at least for now, the privates. Not sure why this is happening as both ML and BW are losing market share as well.

I did not know you Cackle Cab but your post is pathetic. Club is bigger now than ever.

Couldn't agree more. Not all the VLC teams are barn burners but they are teaching quality lacrosse and many of their teams are competing with the perennial top teams. The coaches are experienced, connected and also good guys. You'll see the dividends from them starting with the younger ages in time. As for clinics, they've run Skillz n Drillz for a number of years and they make it very clear that it is for ALL kids not just VLC kids. If the only stone you can throw at VLC is that they have public school kids that is pretty weak. If you look at the Top 20 Virginia high school teams you'll see the majority are public schools. https://www.insidelacrosse.com/recruiting/highschool/state/VA/19

Some of the private schools may have great concentrations of athletes and be able to turn out quality teams but the public schools with their volumes of available students are certainly catching up. Note, SSSAS shows up in Maryland for some reason. And yes I know Landon, Bullis, Gonzaga, etc are all part of the DMV available kids but generalities like public school kids are somehow less than what colleges want (when the majority of ALL students in college are from public schools) is just silly.
