You are all over this story and this family with intense hatred and anger, but you claim to not watch the show, not like the family, disagree with their views, disagree with their actions, and yet you have such strong opinions and feelings towards them. What is up with that, I mean really. It's not healthy. Why do you care so much about this? There must be some pretty intense negativity in your lives to be posting some of the crazy stuff I'm reading here.
The reason I'm reading and responding is because I liked the duggars. I watched the show when I had cable, ever since the first special aired years ago. I feel awful for the family and what they must be going through right now. Every single one of them. Even josh. I just can't imagine hearing that something horrific happened to a family and going online and bashing them on an online forum, and especially not to the extent that many of you are doing. It doesn't matter how I felt about the family, if I disagreed with everything about them. It would make me uncomfortable and I'd have to consider what issues in my life would drive me to do such a thing. You talk about the family being hateful (which I just do not get, at all), but what about what you are doing? Is that not hypocritical ( which is another word some of you have been using to describe the duggars)? I can imagine that if this scanadal came to light about a family that you all were fond of, and people were rushing to judgment on here, you'd be posting things like "we don't have all the details, this might not be true, that might not be true, show the family some empathy, they are human and make mistakes, etc". And yet none of the people who support the duggars are denying that something terrible happened, just that it is a bad idea to get so excited about bashing them during this time. I can't imagine being so smug about a family's traumatic secrets being revealed on the news and celebrity gossip tabloids. It's really sad
That's pretty rich, considering you are defending a family that earns its money by broadcasting their lives on TV (and magazines, and talk shows, and websites, appearances, etc.), and was made famous by putting their children and lifestyle out for public viewing and comment. Everything they do is designed to promote their particular brand of conservative Christianity and to make money. So yes, when they espouse personal and sexual repression and intolerance, but they tolerate their oldest son molesting four of their young daughters (age 4????!!! That is predatory, plain and simple), then they are going to get booted from their gravy train of piety. And their dirty laundry is going to be hung out in public. That's the risk you take when you live your life for the camera. This is not a family in crises, this is a cult whose leaders will do anything to preserve the status quo. I feel zero sympathy, except for the daughters. That sh*t need to be shut down NOW.
Yes, I'm defending them because I don't think they are bad people. However, I'm not demanding that you, or anyone else tolerate and accept them or their values, which many may find extreme and/or disagree with. But can you say the same for yourself or many liberal democrats when it comes to what they value? Let's be honest about this one, because that seems to be where the real issue is with the duggars according to many of the people posting to this thread. I also find that to be incredibly rich.

JimBob contacted a State trooper and reported it. The trooper chose not to bring charges but did talk to Josh.
Josh was sent away to a program. (I am not religious but this program was one that the Duggars thought was appropriate.) Josh and girls got counseling. And you can see from the later police report that the Duggars brought all girls in to be interviewed. they only stopped participating in a case when they hired an atty who told police that Joshua could not be interviewed by law enforcement.
I don't think Josh is a molester..In my mind, he was a young teen and was behaving badly and prob. out of curiousity. I don't think he will go on to molest children.

IF ABUSED WAS NOT AT FAULT!!!????!
I want to puke.
