Assuming this is true, this is not great news for Wilson, which is packed to the gills already without more people coming in from Hardy.

Ah, the eventual counter-reaction from the guardians of Hardy's "unique culture." As long as Hardy remains a largely OOB school, the fact is that there will be limited take-up from the school's boundary area.

The proposal was fake entertained to let Jack Evans pretend he was fighting for some constituents... it was never for real. Like all those ones Mary Chehimi throws around that are big jokes on the face of them.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Jake Evans never took a stand against the proposal of hosting Hyde on Hardy's outdoor space. The proposal would have negatively affected very few of his Ward 2 constituents, i.e. just the Ward 2 Hardy IB families. The proposal was for real, and it was withdrawn only because of the strong opposition which was mounting in the Ward 3 Hardy feeder school communities as soon as they learned of the proposal.

Mann is largely an IB school. Stoddert is in the middle. Hyde is so OOB, it's not significant that kids go to Hardy -- what other alternative do they have?!

I don't really know who is in-boundary and who is out of boundary at Stoddert in fifth grade but I do know this. There are roughly 50 5th graders this year and all of them are long-standing Stoddert students who have been at the school for years, most since PreK and K. So the years of getting off the waitlist in 5th grade in order to get to Hardy are over.

The perception of Hardy has been that of an urban school marooned in Upper NW. It's good that the perception is changing and that Hardy is finally winning community support.
