Right, and she's also wearing sandals and a nicely fitted tank (instead of falling-down ankle socks and gym shoes) and her hair is nicely styled. Its all about the overall outfit. I'm not a general fan of capris, but if you're going to wear them, it would be good to put some effort into the rest of the look (unless you're painting your house, of course.)

She's also not chasing small children around the park or wrangling them on the metro to/from the zoo all by herself. Sometimes a loose, messy pony tail and gym shoes are the best things for the job,

Why not just full length pants? You can buy nice, lightweight pants that are appropriate for summer. As a PP asked, does your ankle exposure really keep you cooler? Probably not.

I'm the PP who posted the capri photos and hey, if you ladies want to wear that outfit, wear it proud. But don't make excuses as to why - if you like it, you like it. But the majority opinion is that they look bad. If that's not reason enough for you to toss them in the trash, nobody is saying you have to. But don't pretend that it's capris or nothing.

Yeah, shorts don't do me any favors, either. My capris offer the right amount of coverage while keeping you cool.

I think the lady with the blue trim doors may actually be wearing those clothes to do a painting project (hence the blue trim) in which case, it might be okay.

I just don't understand how those 6 extra inches of breeze on your calves can make that much difference in comfort? I'm overweight and see SO much capri styles in my size and hate them. I stick to the same material (the light cotton or whatever it's made of) and get the pants that go to my ankles. Honestly, i just don't understand how they make such a difference.

I've been wearing woman #2's outfit for years and years. Throw on a backpack and I'm ready to go.

What can I wear instead? 38, 6 month postpartum so I don’t feel shorts are a good option for me. Normally I wear black workout capris everyday like this.
